I forgot its an automatic but do these things not have manual shift if needed. I thought you could use the auto in the city and shift to manual mode when on the highway. I had an Avanti Garelli two speed automatic moped in 1987 and in that moped I could change gears by modulating the accelerator; can it not be done in the newer vehicles. Thanks, Supernaut. Wasn't sure what I was getting when you gave - note emphasis gave, not sold - the APC. Awfully generous of you to not to accept any payment - will pay back in kind. Holy cr@p - APC cleans stuff out like a greedy girl friend. The windshield has probably never been this clean since the time they took it out to fit in my car !!!

I have started using the company horn in the city now, which a puny buzzer which can be heard only if you stick your ear drums to the diaphragm of the horn. As a matter of fact, have stopped using the headlights too. Keep only the fog lamps switched on, after getting abuses for using the 100/90 low beams. :D

Notorious Shell Helix HX5 is a very good oil. 15W40 grade is suitable for Alto and a 4L can cost me around 1000/- one year back. Make sure you buy it from the ASS or from a reputed/authorized retailer. The engine noise is noticeably lower and while I cannot say that there are any drastic performance improvements, the car seems springy and eager.
