Our very own Venkat aka 007 has won second place in the 1600 pro stock category with a 16.06 on his 1.5 OHC. Congrats Venkat.

The fastest time of the day for indian cars went to Hyder Khan driving a NOS V6 Accord and did a 13.4.
Varun Reddy once again sweeps the Foreign open with a 11.4. Heard Jitu did a 13.xx. Pics should be up by tomorrow.

Venkat aka 007 posted a time of 16.06 in his 1.5 OHC, coming second for his class in the Street Stock 1401-1600cc, and Shreyans aka maverick0675 posted a time 15.384 in his 1.5 OHC Vtec, coming first for his class in the Pro Stock 1401-1600cc. herd Jitu's run was a nice one but there was no classification for his class. Sad but True.

The drag this time went on till late in the evening. I think the last one or two runs were done with the street lights and the cars headlamps turned on. Besides that, there was a little mud/sand on the strip which caused a few traction problems.

The Nissan GT-R had some serious weight reduction, no seats, nothing. Also had a Kreissieg race exhaust. As usual, it went up against the Supra and clocked a 11.4 while the Supra did a late 12. And y'day, an R1 clocked a 10.4 on a practice run, which probably would have been the best time the best time of the event.

Congrats to Jitu, Venkat, Shrey, Keshav, Vasu Anna and Akshay for winning

thanks guys. it was fun to have gotten all dusty and greasy and not having slept for two days mucking around with The Monster [that's Jitu's car, not mine].

it was very gratifying to have stopped a lot of tongue wagging. I know I can and WILL go faster next time.

now I move on to others. Shrey first. he has been at the receiving end of a lot of bullshit from a lot of people, not least from those who claim to be his friends and well wishers. his time has finally come. 15.38s, that too from a car that blew its head gasket while on its way to Hyderabad - because the wires leading to his coolant temperature sensor were CUT - and had to be pushed, towed and repaired in less than 12 hours is no joke. he entered very late and didnt have the advantage of a practice run either.
Rahul, thanks for your wheels. Id be happy if you both now buried the hatchet. keep bickering about Honda vs Suzuki - it provides us non stop entertainment - but youre both good guys. be friends.

now to Jitu. this is the first time I met him. he needed Speed 97 but got city directions and fundas on tBHP instead. I helped him out. I expected a man with such a machine to be loud and proud. I was wrong. never met a more soft spoken individual apart from Memo in my life. he came, he ran and he went. none of the organizers even bothered to care. this is not happening. its one thing to throw money at somebody and ask him to build a monster. its a whole different thing altogether to do it yourself. it demands and deserves respect - something that Jitu didnt get - and I WILL do something about it.

Thats a good timing by Shrey, but I can't understand why he always seems to be having problem with his coolant related components all the time.

Venkat, I would love to bury it too. But I don't like it when he starts throwing attitude that OHC Vtec is some supercar and starts rubbishing everything else. Anyways, I am always ready to make peace anyday as long as he learns to respect others.

Very true, after JD Madan, I think Jitu is the next most down to earth man I have ever met.

I wanted to come for the event, but since none of the big boys were coming decided to stay back and work on the Baleno instead. Next drag should be fun.

first place was far from elusive. I ****** up the launch and shifted a tad late to second. heard my limiter engage multiple times at 6800. Im perfectly happy with second. two hundredths of a second between my non VTEC with a stock ECU and NO weight reduction - spare wheel excluded - and a tuned VTEC running an RD ECU with Im guessing an 8000 RPM rev limit aint bad, is it? it also shows that with a proper launch and shift, I will be doing something around 15.8/15.9 and with a higher rev limit, god knows what else.
Ive always been the type of guy who'd rather do nothing and take second place than work my nuts off and take first. so again, I dont give a ****. I got my money back.


Im suspecting sabotage with Shrey's car. Im not sure who or why though. he clocked that time with YOUR wheels Rahul. I had my own wheels on. was thanking you on his behalf.
yes he is a Honda fanboy and tends to disparage other brands and tends to go overboard a lot of times. I guess its just the way he is. dont take it too literally or seriously. in the end, he is a good honest hard working dude and so are you. you both formed opinions about each other long ago and dont want to change them. just try to start afresh. the wheels are a good start.

Jitu achieved something huge on his own. it didnt translate to timing but it is huge nevertheless. I **** you not when I say if somebody with a weak heart sits in his car and it begins to boost, HE WILL DIE. such a person came to Hyderabad from Bombay at his expense, prepped, and ran his car all by himself. at the end of the day, he should have received a word of acknowledgement from the organizers. what self respecting tuner or enthusiast would not know about Jitu and more, just ignore him like he didnt even exist?
