Island Dream!

Alright, so I am not talking about Larry Ellison or Brendon Grimshaw (well may be to certain extent) or any other rich, money laden, whimsical person to go off a buy a billion dollar island to show-off. I am not referring to Orsos islands as well.

However, whats wrong in getting an island something like Krusadai Island (Google maps coordinates 9.24394,79.198208), or Shingle Island (Google maps coordinates 9.242076,79.234943), or Manauli Island (Google maps coordinates 9.214923,79.129028) or Vhan Island (Google maps coordinates 8.838513,78.209867) or any other in Bay or Bengal or Arabian sea belt?

Just imagine a life on a serene, peaceful, quiet and natural island. It’ll be like living in heaven right on earth. Sea water all around you and nothing else. Would that be some life. You can set up solar panel stuff on roof to get electricity. Or you can work your way through wind-mill to generate power as well. Try and get an island which is not very far from mainland, thus allowing you an easy and quick connectivity as well.

There will be in-numerable problems in long term staying there, I agree, however, just imagine the peace we can get with just one week of stay. Unmatched with anything else. There will be number of problem in this, however, what stops us in buying an Island just like a land property?

Can I not buy any of the Islands mentioned above post measurement in a Square Feet or Square Meter rate just like any other land in India and get it registered under my name? I don’t think there will be legal challenges in do so. Again, I don’t know much, however, the overall thought is so fascinating.

Wish I could do that sometime!

    There are lot of cons...

    You need to have connectivity
    Safety concerns

And how long you will see just the seas?? You will get bored after sometime....

Agree camchennai, there are these troubles and even more.

But just imagine that we overcome all those and still manage to enjoy the peace and tranquility of sea for lets say 4-5 days - wouldn't that just be fascinating!

Nice thoughts. Yes, it is a wonderful dream to own some space on an island.

Any investment should be based on sound rational. Every asset including land must appreciate. ROI over a specified holding period would be a factor that is to be considered prior to investment.

There are ways of enjoying an island life for 4-5 days a year without making an investment. There are enough island resorts available where one can spend those days without worrying about the world.

Yep Nomad, thats the Orsos Island I have already spoken about in the blog. Artificial islands may give you the comfort, but they wont offer you the peace and tranquility of a natural island!
