This one post says it all. Where TBHP is a private community with few people running the show, GearHeads is more so like an open place for all the enthusiast to come and share information.

TBHP contains some very useful information for new car enthusisats and lets not make a mistake, some of information that I have read on their site is very useful, but again, its all limited, after spending may be a week or 2, you'll get used to it and then you'll start noticing that there is nothing new in the posts there. I do have my concern over the unbiasness of the posts and entries in TBHP as well. Again, this is all what I have felt after reading multiple entries there - and this is an overall feeling. The limited amout of info makes the site not as much usable as GH.

The variety is the flavor of GH. The freedom is awesome and the link above is just one example of how much open this community is. They welcome newbies like newbies and respect quotient is sufficiently good for a person like me to commit that I am a new person to car driving. (Or lets put it this way, I dont know car driving as of now). However, everyone starts from somewhere and this could be a starting point for me.

Both the sites are comparable in terms of what information they offer, however GH is a clear winner in terms of how it is offered. GH is like an open source platform, more so like Wikipedia where anyone can share information, useful information, whereas, TBHP is like a private site.

Just to clarify, the above statement by camchennai was made when asked by a member to upload pictures of his car with TBHP stickers.

I am just about a month and a half old here (infact to social networking altogather, yup, no FB, Orkut, Twitter, somehow could not fit into any of thoes), and the guys here have already made it so comfortable that i dont feel like a newbie.

As you rightly said its unbiased, and every word is respected by members weather they are old or new.

P.S. rksingh1 that question was raised by me

rksingh1 - Not many people read the blog section here

So if you want more people to read and respond to your views, start a thread in the ETC section...

    Sure Mclaren1885

I was just not sure that creating a post would be a great idea, as this topic is primarily a personal preference one, and I doubted if it'll have universal acceptance. I would create one now, since I have a recommendation from you.

Anything against toonpoor is appreciated anywhere.
I just casually reached here on blog section with lazy-head and was expecting some boring stuffs,...but whoilla! this is what I always love to read.

But you are right, ETC is most preferred place by gearheaders where they can even spend whole the life on a single thread and can discuss everything without need of any other thread
