Buying an used Swift doesn't make any sense as the price of Swift in used car market is unreasonable.
Pick up a Figo or Punto or Pulse.
Yello GearHeader's
After My Dear Alto and the fast purchase of Fiesta, its time for another car.
Requirements:
Should be a Hatch
Should be light on pocket
Should give good FE
Confusions:
New Hatch or Used One
Inclined towards older Swift VDI, but afraid of getting a good used car.
Lots of confusions
Old Swift VDI available for around4.5L but new one costing around 7.2L so is the difference of around 3L worth for getting a new one ?
Daily run would be around 45kms. so only diesel strictly
What should i do now ?
Note 1: After this car my planned next purchase will be a LUV or MUV(That thread will come later
)
Note 2: I will never follow Mi10 's footsteps of starting a hatch research and ending up with a sedan![]()

Gump - are you planning a car showroomor a museum. For a hatch - I will suggest the following:
1. All new SWIFT Zdi
2. Indica Vista Vx
3. Figo Titanium
4. Polo Highline
5. Micra D / Pulse D
6. Ritz D
7. Punto 75/90 BHP
Cost wise, Polo Highline > SWIFT Zdi=Punto 90 bhp > Figo Titanium = Micra D=Punto D > Indica Vista Vx > Ritz D
All the above cars have basic safety features and are a good buy.
In case you want to buy a pre-owned car, hunt for SWIFT 2008/09 model which you will get for 4.5L 4.75L with an average of 45k-55k kms on the ODO.
There are a few offers on Figo D on carwale.com & olx.in
Other options in preowned market are
Ritz D
BEAT D
Polo D
Punto D

figo is in my mind, but Pulse not aware of it cammy
This car will be for my daily office usage and occasional Highway drives to Pondy
Vista also am thinking, but the TATA stable is giving me second thoughts
Verito no...for sedan pleasure i will drive down to krishnagiri to our factory and rip my Fiesta.....
No da maams, if i get this Diesel, my ALTO will have to go.
I have Fiesta for Factory usage, as mostly it will be traveling in highways
This Diesel will fulfill my city usage part da dude
The LUV or MUV will replace my current Maruti Versa which is nearing 90K kms![]()

If it's only for city drive's, I'd suggest Ritz Vdi. The car has great maneuverability.
Plus, with a new face-lift expected, you might get the old gen at a discount!

Swift is better choice, but the price for used car is highly ridiculous!!!
Still it is better to get a pre-owned car and fit with some required accessories, swift is a worth buy, but do have a check on the price!!!
I hope Punto is not that much in pre-owned car space, but that is worth buying a new one.

i would say, get a polo or the swift or the figo. beatD is a boring car to drive(no offence meant. just my personal opinion).
A Ritz vdi would give you the best of everything - space, flexibility, seating position , fair comfort and low cost of maintenance.
Personally,I'd stay away from a used diesel unless you are cent percent sure of the way the machine has been driven and maintained.
