LED Bulb Upgrade for my Polo 1.6

      Hi guys,

I am looking to upgrade all my bulbs (except headlight & Fog light bulbs) to LEDs on my 2011 Polo 1.6. I however do not know the individual bulb sepceifications / size and the same is not mentioned in the owner's manual. I need the following:

      1. Turn Indicator bulbs (Front, Side & Rear)
      2. Parking Bulbs (Front & Rear)
      3. Reverse Bulb
      4. Rear Fog Light Bulb

I also need them in the stock colour. For example, the front parking bulbs should be yellow LEDs and not white LEDs which are usually used in most upgrades.

I am also planning to upgrade my headlight & fog light bulbs to better quality ones but with OE specifications but again I do not know the size as the owners manual states H4 and H7 for the headlights.

Please help me with the above.

Epic - have a look at this.

      White LiGHTNiNG - All NeW S W I F T - Page 12

I have changed park lamps, number plate lights and interior cabin lights to SMD LEDs. The headlight is how ever whiteish halogens as I couldnt get LEDs and still hunting for good pair of H7 white/blueish fog lamps. Tell me if you find one

Hey really nice. But I am looking to upgrade each and every bulb to LED except my headlight and fog light bulbs. There is someone on another forum who got his LEDs from a US website called 'www.autolumination.com' The outcome was fantastic!!! Problem is I don't know the specifications of the bulbs in my Polo and being a VW one apparently needs error free bulbs.

      Where are you based?

I would say upgrade the fogs and parking lights to white LED, and let the main headlight stay yellow with an upgrade.
For the parking lights you could look at Philips T10. They're [pretty good.

Any particular reason to not go for white led?

I don't think so. I've seen a few VW's with changed bulbs (white light) in service centres. I don't think any plug and play device would affect warranty. Even if something does go wrong, you can just change back the bulbs to normal and drive to the center.

Based in Mumbai. Why should I change the fogs to LEDs? It will ruin the whole purpose of having fogs and not give me the light I need when required. But I definitely need more powerful halogen bulbs for the fogs and headlights. White LEDs are firstly too common and I feel yellow lights are more visible espically in the rains.

Well guys, I have been told that one needs error free bulbs for VW and the likes or else it shows an ECU error. So yes there is a possibility of voiding warranty if care is not taken.

      A small update :

Got my headlamp bulbs changed to Philips Xtreme Vision and there is a huge improvement versus the stock bulbs provided with the car. There is no modification done and is a simple plug-n-play. The Xtreme Vision claim 100% more light at stock wattage (bulb specification is 55W/60W); and I cannot say if the outcome is 100% more but all I can say is that it is way better that before and I am getting the visibility I need so very happy with the outcome which was pretty unexpected. There is however no upgrade for the fogs so I have left them as they are.

My number plate bulbs will be upgraded to Philips Ultinon 6000k (T10 / w5w). I still have to install them to see the outcome but I think they will serve my purpose.

Now I am looking to upgrade the front parking bulbs, rear parking/brake light bulbs reverse bulb and all indicator bulbs to LED. I however want them in the stock colour which is a task. I have only managed to find amber LEDs for the indicators on Ebay.
