Good example...there...apple iPhones are made in china...and my humble iPhone 3G is still going strong after completing 3 yrs. Be it battery, earpiece, screen or spkr...everything is working perfectly.

So, from this we can conclude...that Chinese made products or car parts in this case need not be bad in quality.

Do you mean all iPhone 3G made in China clones should be working perfectly for the lifetime as the Original one whose quality was decided and controlled by the Apple?

I don't think that these companies (GM, Intel, Apple, etc) will compromise on quality to the dust for the sake of street cheap cost! And exactly that assurance we must have before buying "Made In China" product.

you'd be very surprised sir, compromise on quality is not a single stage effort, it a constant practice, its to keep the products cost effective and competitive especially in times of rising raw material costs, once the novelty or the monopoly of a product is lost its value falls to a base level from whereon it increases as per rise in the cost of raw material used, i know of this because even in my business field this is quite relevant, four years ago we used to manufacture fans with crc stamping, copper winding, sintered bushes and laser treated/annealed shafts, now we are forced to use comparitively sub standard materials because our products won't be competitive in the market, you do the math, in 1985-86, the 800 used to cost somewhere around 60-80k rs/-, how many fold has the cost of iron increased? and how many fold has the cost of the car increased? ask yourself this question and you will find the answer

Arrey...Dev11 i didn't mean that all products made in china are Great in quality. iPhone was taken as just an example that made in china products n i quote "need not be bad in quality"...it all depends on the quality control of manufacturer/company getting that product manufactured in china.

I mentioned the above in my previous post...therefore anything coming out of china cannot be classified as bad in quality or reliability n its the same in the case of indian auto companies.

The Chinese industry has a broad range. While they impress us with their super cheap break any moment random products they also have a very standardized range of production. Most of the goods used in the world are some way or the other linked to Chinese products. Be it Armani Jeans or some Dell laptop.
The chinese will make what you want them and what you pay them to make. So generalizing all chinese products as unworthy is like calling all Indians snake charmers.

GM is tieing up with SAIC which is an automotive giant in Shangai to manufacture and launch its Sail sedan and couple of more models in India. I am not sure whether the same applies for the Sail being sold in other parts of the world !

+1 to this. During my official trip to Swiss, came across variety of Chinese stuff eg. clothes, toys, kitchen items etc in Zurich city. Stuff was of so good quality that it was difficult to believe that it is made in China. However local folks find Chinese stuff good enough and that too at a lower price.

So basically we should blame our importers who choose to buy low quality products to increase their profit margins

I remember the ban on milk products imported from China couple of years back in USA and India too!

I remember the ban in USA and some of European countries on the Chinese toys because of the banned chemicals used in the colours.

I believe that the same products now exported to the USA and European countries are of good quality and manufactured to the standards ad specifications only.

But, I am afraid of the quality and standard of the same products we (our companies) importing from China at present.

Do you think that we are getting the same quality Made In China products in the markets here in India those are available in USA and European countries?

If your answer is “NO”, the by applying the business strategy as described by blackhorn

I would like to put my say -

Considering the ForceOne’s demand in Indian market, I can’t assure myself about the quality.

I say this, though I know and I admit that China can produce and is producing the quality automobile vehicles and spares.

BTW, the bitterness between Tata Motors and Bajaj is not hidden. Mr. Rahul Bajaj many times indirectly expressed his emotions.

    Edit :

I am fully agree with the opinions expressed here by blackhorn, Sanchit87, nfspoet, yksharma, etc and these actually helped me in drawing the conclusion about the quality of ForceOne. May be I am wrong, but it is what I feel or doubt (only, and its not my experience)!

not at all, its just that force is built to a price rather than to a quality, it suffers because of of quality pitfalls and not where those parts were manufactured
