Few days back I found a CJ4 rusting in peace near my home.

The only way I know its a 73 CJ4 , is by the manufacturer plate by the driver's side.
From what I came to know from Internet is , it used to have a F Head Engine , but could not find any Info on the CJ4 s made by Mahindra.
    Think its a rare Jeep.

I dont know what Engine , it has now and who the owner is and whether its up for sale.

Gurus, please share your knowledge on this Jeep.

    Find the pictures above.

If it is, and if you are interested, pick it up.

The body looks OK from the pics, it even has the original tailgate

Also what do you guys think about the price ?

I understand its difficult to predict before knowing the config

Well, for starters, it is CLEAN. Someone has either worked on it, or taken care of it AWAY from the elements!

My guess is someone sprayed grey primer all over (doesnt look like paint), and the GB cover is also fit well in place. So best guess is this has been used until recent few years/months. And CJ4s (stock petrol ones) are very hard to come by (especially if the body work is as clean as this). PS - even the tail gate is stock drop down with chain links!!!!

Mind telling which area in bangy? If near ecity I can drop in.

PPS - dont mind to open the hood to take some engine pics. You can make out a "carb" from a diesel Pump, right? So take a peek-a-boo

    Santosh

Its near Marathalli , quite far for you , but If I see I am serious, will invite you all experts for sure.

Going by all of your comments , I am excited about it .

It has got the stock odometers, 3 spoke steering and the lights too .

The small black meter by the steering on the RHS is the Eng Temp meter, I dont know how authentic that is.

Let me try to find out more on this Jeep today.

I am a novice, so wont be able to differentiate much on the petrol and diesel eng apart from the size .
The Jeep is lying in an empty plot , and there are several shops around it , will opening the hood be a good idea? ;-)

    Will still try.

Is the small meter TEMP meter or OIL PRESSMETER? Does it have 40-60-80-100-120 OR 1-2-3-4-5-6?

Most of the petrol jeeps have oil pressure meter IIRC made after market. (not sure about this)

this is the best idea - u can run away as fast as u can from a open plot- not so easy from a outside house parking! But seriously, it is best you meet the owner in this way than wondering who owns it.

    -------------------------
A Petrol engine (hurricane) looks like this. EASY to note points - WATER hose from RADIATOR from the middle, 1-air filter hose going into a CARB, 4 wires going into spark plugs on engine. Dont miss the TEXAN BULL HORN shaped EXHAUST on left of the engine...
