Toyota has launched a limited edition variant of the Corolla Altis, named as the Aero. The company says the Altis Aero has been launched to celebrate the Corolla’s 10th anniversary in the Indian market. The limited edition Toyota Corolla Altis Aero is available in two colors only – Silver Mica Metallic and Black Mica. It is based on the J Grade variant and is powered by a 1.8-litre petrol engine which produces 138 BHP of peak power output at 6400 RPM and 173 Nm of peak torque output at 4000 RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and is Euro IV compliant.
Toyota Corolla Altis Aero Features -
- Front Bumper Spoiler
- Smoked headlights
- 7-spoke alloy wheels
- Dual tone seats with Aero emblem
- Rear Spoiler with LED stop lamp
- Smoked tail lights
- Muffler cutter
Toyota has currently offered the Corolla Altis Aero with a petrol engine only but the company will consider a diesel limited edition too if there is demand for the limited edition model. Currently the Japanese automaker will offer 500 units of this limited edition, which is priced at Rs. 11.48 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Altis Aero has already reached dealerships and will be on sale till September 2012. Clearly Toyota is using the 10th anniversary of the Corolla Altis to sell petrol powered variants of the car as the recent price hike of petrol fuel has further dented the demand for petrol powered cars in the country.

Looks pretty similar to the Corolla Sports or something they launched few years back.
Overall, I love this car and the 'front spoiler' (front skirt) looks pretty cool, but the design is pretty dated now.
