After a lot of searching, we finally found the source of this evil power.

An Ancient Dragon Scale Soul Gem Stone. It was cursed with a unique Soul trapping enchantment. We destroyed it after a whole lot of disappointing tries. In the end, we used our collective soul energy to completely obliviate the Ancient Dragon Scale Soul Gem Stone. The procedure for this process we acquired from the inscriptions that we fond on the walls of the GopiNath Temple inside the fort itself.

    The inscriptions:

ArrowheadFilters, i have to hand it to you bud, you really are a gifted story teller, the spin king, i didn't even realise you had this much time in between your bouts of uncontrollable laughter to actually click the pics, they came out really well, as usual we had an awesome time, looking forward to more trips like this in the future, awesome drive by anubhavt, there wasn't a time during the whole trip that we felt we were in a tight spot, his experience on the road really reflects in his driving skills

the whole experience was like a fun trip, thanks to ArrowheadFilters, we came laughing and we went laughing even harder, i think thats the most powerful tool that he has of combating the ghostly apparitions

we had the perfect vehicle as well in the form of anubhavt 's safari, there was a stretch of roughly 35kms while going and about 15kms while returning which was quite bad, the road just disintergrated into and aglomeration of potholes, the safari soaked them all and more, i am glad that we didn't take any other vehicle, surely we would have elongated our travel time by at least two hours

awesome ride, looking to more in the future, will post pics from my side soon, can't say i can be as articulate as arrowheadfilters, but will surely try

Nope, we didn't see any ghosts there. But, the place is bit spooky! Till the time you are in a group it's okay, but, few mins alone, you can feel that there is something in the air.

Can't imagine staying here alone or even in the group at night.

we didn't find anyone to ask! maybe due to peak summers. There were some local kids there, but they were most interested in taking a dip in the pond within the fort.

But, history and myths revolving around Bhangarh are available on the Internet.

    The Bhangarh Story

The story (and the history) of the Bhangarh began in the year of 1573 when the fortress was established. Built by Raja Bhagawant Das – the ruler of the city of Amber, Bhangarh Fort has become the residence of Madho Singh, ruler’s second son who fought alongside his father and brother in many wars. The decline of Bhangarh Fort started in 1630 after Chhatr Singh, son of Madho Singh got killed in a violent attack. The decline continued until 1783 when the fortress and the city were completely abandoned following that year’s famine.

    The Bhangarh Myths

According to one of the myths, Bhangarh was cursed by Guru Balu Nath (Baba Balanath), who originally sanctioned the construction but warned that his sacred meditating place lies nearby and should the palace reach the size which would cast a shadow big enough to reach his forbidden retreat, the city would fall into ruin. Ignorant of the warning, Ajab Singh – one of dynasty’s descendants raised the palace to a height that cast the shadow on the Balu Nath’s retreat and the city was cursed.

Another myth talks about princess Ratnavati who was so beautiful she had no match in all of Rajasthan. Marriage proposals came coming, but one day she was spotted by a tantric named Singha Sevra who was so bewildered by her beauty, he decided to use his black magic to get to her. As he was spying on the princess, he saw her servant buying perfumes for her. The tantric used the opportunity and put a black magic spell on the lotion which was supposed to draw the princess to him upon initial use.

His intentions were uncovered by a person loyal to the princess who informed her of bewitched lotion. The princess took the bottle and smashed it against the rock which came to life and rolled over the tantric killing him. Before he died, he laid a curse on entire land which came to be the following year during battle between Bhangarh and Ajabgarh. All who dwelt in Bhangarh died, including the princess.

There are several other myths and legends that explain the reasons why the fort was abandoned overnight and never re-inhabited, but they all revolve around the fact that the city was cursed and is now haunted by ghosts.
