I do really like the design of the sonata, but I've owned smaller hyundai cars in the past and have had horrible experience with their service. The fluid design is very attractive though. Should definitely at least take a test drive of it.

yes, really really hoping for the Passat petrol, would be perfect. Can wait till next year till jan and can stretch easily to march-april so yeah that'll be nice if they release it.

Not interested in the teana at all. And Want a sedan for sure. Not into SUVs one bit

Attractive it sure is the catch is the unimpressive handling. ride is soft. take a high speed turning and the front feels disconnected from the car.

There's also a Volvo S60.. the lower editions may be in the price range.

Here is what I would consider:
Passat ( brilliant car on the highway and the city) diesel only.
Teana (comfortable car but hate the looks of it) petrol only.
Volvo s60 (plenty of engine options available, good looks and good interiors) petrol and diesel.

or you have the options of X1 and the Q3, Cheers.

Passat looks best choice from the options you are considering but I would still say that Superb, which based on same platform, is more spacious than Passat.
Its ok if you want to skip the big-badges due to less space than Accord but I am still curious why you are not considering those big brand cars. May be test drive change your mind. You can also consider crossover versions of these cars if the space is so important for you, afterall snob value matters.

Toyota Prius also fallls in the given price range, can be considered for a change

Actually I have seen 5 different Kizashis over the last couple of weeks on the BIAL Road. That car is surely in the league of an Accord, just that it is being marketed by the wrong company in India. The same car would have sold like hot cakes if Skoda/Honda were selling it.

Are you sure, that car feels so small and cramped when compared to Accord.

But I feel the price offering taken its toll in the case of Kizashi, if the same car would have been assembled in India and would have been placed in the category of civic, laura, it would have been a hit.
