Mitsubishi India - just the car not the spares

    Dear friends,
Couple of parts needs to be replaced in my ageing 2006 Cedia (A/C Condenser fan motor and clutch set). But as we all know, India is at the bottom of the list when it comes to availability and pricing of Mitsubishi spares. Authorized service center here in Chennai are quoting a ridiculous 35k for both the parts combined. Worst part, they don't stock any spares, Hindustan Motors brokers the spares from Japan to local dealers as and when there's a need. It will take months together for this entire process so I'm going to try sourcing the spares myself instead of going the time consuming and expensive route.
I wish Mitsubishi India improves the spares support someday..

Now my questions to the fellow Mitsubishi owners and other members -
    1. Are there any quality aftermarket products available in India for these parts? Has anyone here purchased stuff from local market?
    2. Does buying stuff from US make sense? The US Lancer OZ rally and Indian Cedia share the same specs, will their spares be compatible with each other? I searched eBay with part numbers but couldnt find an exact match, though there are lot of aftermarket spares for the US Lancer. Some of them are..

    Clutch -

    A/C Condenser Fan -
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/A-C-Condense...ht_2626wt_1270

Whats your take on this? Will it be a wise decision to source them from US? If yes how can I make sure they are compatible?

I am facing similar issues. My Brake Pads are due for replacement and MASS here in Bangalore are quoting ridiculous prices: 5.6K for front and 6.6K for rear. After market price for the same ones are around 1800 for set. Is it worth spending that much on Pads from MASS ? Are after market Pads not reliable ??

Badri, what was the problem you are changing the condenser ? Even I feel the AC of my Cedia is sub-par. Back home, the AC of mom's Wagon-R is like tornado. The Fan speed is not that much.

Rather than importing from US, try to source it from Thailand or Philippines, Mitsubishi is non existent in US as well so getting from there doesn't make any sense consider the current exchange rate. Mitsubishi has bigger presence in Thailand and Philippines so source it from there so that spares are inexpensive.

Its not difficult to source clutch plate from GP Road, it should be available there. And for AC condenser, reach out the below person, he has a AC servicing shop in North Usman Road and does a very good job and charge will be reasonable.

Thanks for the reply camchennai . Lancer Cedia is known as Lancer OZ Rally in the US and popular in the low end market (mainly Mexican fellas). So you do get most of the parts out there.

Can you share any online shop / e-bay seller in Thailand (as Philippines is under flood these days ) ?

I don't have any contacts...reach out to some automobile importer in India and he will be able to source it or some international automobile website....

My apologies. Logging in into GH after a long time. I'm not changing the condenser, it is just the condenser fan motor that is causing the problem and needs replacement

Thanks Vijay. Will reach out to Prakash for the AC problem. W.r.t clutch, Looks like Exedy India doesnt manufacture clutch for Mitsubishi cars, they are available for Maruthi and Honda as well, thats what I got to know from the Mumbai customer center. Even if sourced from GP road there's no garauntee that it'll be genuine. I'm not aware any other reputed clutches so didnt take any chances.
