Next up is the Sasivekalu Ganesha.
As we all know Ganesha is a foddie. ONce he ate so much food that his stomach was about to burst. SO he caught a snake and made a belt. The same can be seen in this sculpture also.
The hand which is holding the Modaka was destroyed by Bahamani rulers when they Invaded this place in 15th century.
This was reconstructed by the ASI and in 2000 some miscreant broke that again purposefully. Hence a CCTV camera is installed at all the monuments now.
This is almost 8ft in height. This was built under the supervision of a trader who used to trade Sasivekalu and hence the name. This was also to show his respect and love towards the Vijayanagar Rulers.
The structure is so nicely done that from behind the monument you can see Goddess Parvathi depicted.
Next is Kadalekalu Ganesha:
This is on the top of the Hemakuta hills next to Virupaksha temple
The belly of this idol resembles the shape of Kadalekalu or the Bengal gram and hence the name. The idol is almost 15ft in height. You guys should see that and it is huge and loos awesome.
It is said that after the Bahamani rulers came to know about the wealth of the Vijayanagar empire they thought the stomach and the truck of this idol has gold in it and chopped off.

Next up is the Krishna Temple:
This temple was built by Krishnadeva Raya in 15tyh Century to mark the winning over the Gajapathi kings of Utkala, which is now a state in Orissa.
The main deity was Lord Krishna and that to it is Bala Krishna. This temple was excavated just some decades ago. The main idol of Balakrishna is in Chennai Museum.
This temple has a good lion sculpture which is at the entrance to the Shrine.
Like Hampi Bazzar(which starts near the Virupaksha temple), this temple also host a bazaar which is called as "Krishna Bazaar" which is in front of the temple.
All the trades including Gems, gold, etc during Krishnadevaraya used to happen here
