      Hello all.
I was planning an ecu remapping or tuning box installation on swift diesel. The car has already done 75k kms on odo and we are planning to retain the car till 1.5L kms. So thought its time for some performance upgrades to keep the spirits.

I have almost decided to go with the tuning box option, which gives the advantage that it can be removed at the time of regular servicing. While reading the reviews i could find that everyone is really thrilled by the initial powergain. My querries are :-

      1) Regarding long term performance of the tuning boxes - whether they give the same gain in power over long periods of time. Is it required to reprogramme the box due to any issues of reduced performance in due course of time..??..

      2) One of my acquaintance had installed and removed a tuning box in his polo tdi (3 cylinder 72 bhp version) due to excessive black smoke. Is this a random issue or is it faced by majority..??..

      3) Finally I'm confused between Petes tuning box and Dieseltronics tuning box, which one to take.

Experts kindly help/guide me in this regard.

Why tune a car that is already running well? What sort of power gain are you talking about? About the only thing you might notice is the car using more fuel.
Might be best to get a car with a bigger engine.

The car is indeed running well. But our heart always wants for more right..??. This 1.3L MJD on swift can do wonders if properly tuned. So why dont we extract more power the engine has in disposal.
Regarding gain in power it is said that this engine can produce 90-95 horses and 220-230nm of torque with a good tuning box. I think it is a fair enough gain in power.
