      SA recommended to change the disc and breakpad. When i asked why disc needs to be changed, he mentioned breaking will not be effective.

      I believe none of the owners manual will suggest to change Brake disc/pads at some said Kms. As it a wear & tear part, it will be inspected & changed if required.

      You should have asked what is the life left in both of those(discs/pads). I am pretty sure discs would have lasted long but they might have suggested to change it if it had warped.

      Today for my friends car Figo diesel, we were looking for timing belt kit in aftermarket. We came across Optibelt Germany timing kit which has belt, adjuster, bearing plastic one and some bolts. The price quoted was INR 4800 MRP was 6k+. Any suggestions

      I have never heard of the brand. When I replace critical engine parts, I go for OEM parts. The pennies you save is just not worth it. Continental and SKF are good brands. Dont go for any other brand. I always let the VW dealer replace my timing belts.
