      After Market Lighting Upgrades

Night driving is kind of pointless without good lights. Unless the point you're looking for is suicide.
What lighting upgrades do you have?
      What do you plan?
What do you like and hate about them?
      what problems have you had?
      what money did you pay?
where did you source your lights from?

I have used 130/100 phillips rally bulbs in the stock reflectors for 2 yrs without problems, but, I dont do much rush hour night time driving.
These lights are fine for the speeds I drive at, provided some kind soul who has seen the condition of my windscreen, has magnanimously cleaned it for me
Daytime rides around the city just for fun are no more possible. the traffic is that bad. I'm now going to shift all my recreational driving to the night.
So, I need a back up set of lights.
HIDs were expensive and... Illegal. So, out they went.
Extra fog lamps is what i finally decided on.
Hella 500Fs looked really tempting, and were within the budget I'd set for myself.
Then I thought of all the "encounters" I have with bikers on a daily basis. I was not willing to put up 5k worth of glass right upfront for them to break. They have already managed to damage 2 numberplates by squeezing in between me and the vehicle in front, thats how close, the two wheelers cut it.
So have settled for Neolites with 100W bulbs. total cost 1.5k
I dont mind ramming a biker with those lights. it might actually be worth it
The lights will go on tomorrow, hopefully. will update on this thread with results.

neolites are dinner plate sized. they will have to be mounted on either side of the numberplate.
I'll look like a Pucca ricer now.
bumper will have to be drilled/cut a little.that I dont mind, because my long suffering bumper has taken 2yrs of scrapes and nudges and is falling off anyway
will take pics, or atleast get someone else to take pics. both my cameraphone and DSLR are on the blink
and I'm too lazy to get them fixed

PS- MASS is trying to rip you off

I completely agree with Ripper. Good lights and a clean windscreen is a must for night driving on our highways.

I upgraded to 100/90s on the Baleno and I could easily keep up speeds of around 140-160kmph on the GQs and around 120-140kmph on SH. But soon you get bored, specially when the Elantras are around .

However off lately I too have been planning to buy better fogs. Contemplating a flexible mount so that I can switch the fogs between the Baleno and the Swift depending on which car I intend to take out in not more than 10-15mins.

Looked around, the lightforces seem brilliant but a tad too expensive. Mostly will stick to the Hellas. I have seen them working wonders on the Xenon.

Now that truck is a floodlight on the road.

I dont do high speeds during the nights, so the current lights are proving adequate.

What would be the best lights for if i decide to change and also without voiding the warranty? It should do a good job of blinding the high-beam morons who come opposite me.
