Only the diesel variant comes with the 6 speed gearbox Shishir. Sudhakar means the rest of the features including blue display inside the car etc were added to his car.

Thanks for clearing the misconception. When I read his post, I thought it is available on petrol also.

Couple of weeks back I was doing some 140-150 km/hr between Perambular and Villupuram on NH-45 and was easily able to keep pace with the Ventos and was happily overtaking other 'slow' moving vehicles

I was quite happy that the Vista(with it's MJD engine, soft suspension, niggles etc ) was able to compete quite decently with the Ventos. (Of course it's a different matter that you guys might say that the Vento was being driven slowly ).

Somewhere after Tindivanam, I saw an I20 CRDi going good speeds and then the Vista wanted to have a bit of fun with the I20

Vista was thinking 'ohh..that's that dead steering vehicle. What can it do?'

But the I20 was damn quick. I think that guy was easily doing 150 and cutting corners and zipping through the traffic. After sometime the I20 disappeared from the horizon Can an I20 go like this? People on most of automobile forums usually curse the i20.

Guys - I know it's a 90BHP one but never knew that I20 could do great speeds on the highways comfortably. What's everyone's view on this?

It can and it will. Hyundai weren't drunk when they priced it much higher than its competitors. The i20 continues to find buyers and that doesn't happen just like that

roadracer - I too have seen a i20 zip pass my swift. I was doing close to 135 kmph with 5 people + 2 children onboard in NH4 - zoom went pass an i20! damn that was super quick. Like what you said - this guy wasnt doing straight line speed, he was chipping and chopping.

mind you - it was raining like hell freezing over, end of days! but this guy was singing a song when rome was burning.

It doesnt have the outright thrust of madness like the getz/verna 110bhp engine. Initial pickup can be pretty dreary, but once it hits high speeds it maintains them comfortably and is pretty stable at those speeds as well. 180km/hr odd is possible in that car.
    Catch me if you can.....

Mhmm.. pretty much possible. I have touched 150 and it seems it can do 170 easily and the pick up of i20 is damn good.
