With my limited knowledge, injector cleaner will help in cleaning the injector, remove carbon deposit, improves engine response and smoothing rough idling

Diesel Treatment is specially formulated to save fuel by keeping fuel intake system clean of harmful deposits. It fights rust and corrosion in the fuel system, and reduces emissions, smoke and noise. Added cetane improver also helps cold starts. Suitable for all Diesel engines including DI, IDI and common rail, and catalytic converters.

Re: GearHeads, Your recomendation required for Diesel Injector cleaning liquid

You can get system D in Ford service center itself. I used it all along with Figo and works really well. But make sure not to mix system D or any other cleaner with premium diesel ( like speed, premium .. Etc). Or else it will be a double dose of cleaners and could be bad in the long run ( as the premium diesel will also have cleansing additives)

I don't know about others but Fiats strictly prohibits the usage of such products.

Yeah, IMO its better to fill premium diesel once in a blue moon (5th-6th tank fill) instead of using such cleaners or other additives if we ware not sure which one is suitable for which engine. When I bought new car in 2011, the chief of SAs there told me to fill premium diesel once in while but I am not sure if reason behind his recommendation was also the same (cleaning purpose).

AFAIK, premium diesel has been discontinued after removal of subsidy by Govt. You will not find premium diesel anywhere in Delhi / NCR.

Last time I checked premium diesel was Rs 77.58 per liter.

Cleaning injectors with hand is not an easy task anyways even if you open the injector to clean it you use an injector cleaner thats what hyundai does so you are catching the ears both ways

Premium Diesel is no longer an option since its decontrolled and is as expensive as petrol and I bet adultration will be at high level with premium diesel

Fiat or anything I still think that it's important to keep the engine and fueling system clean,. More so on a diesel. Had fiat told us with a proper testing and given us evidence and reasoning I would have bought that argument.

As far as different types of cleaner goes ( injector, fuel system.. Etc), to the best of my knowledge their composition is almost similar. Mostly kerosene with different additives. Please buy a pyrol bottle and check. It clearly says kerosene however others say some fancy chemical names.
