A good song is package of all the three which is basic and every one knows about it its been the case from pre IR period.

IR had tried out different techniques in music if you have time and knowledge about music do read this blog
Raja, the genius: Synthesizer based PolyCaRe arrangements in 199x interludes and understand what IR is capable of rather than shooting blank

Hear the song "Thenpaandi Cheemayile" (Without any instrument version) voice of IR and the tune will blow your mind .... Then comment about his capability and capacity as MD

      Not Factual

Its not a joke to compose music for 1000 films and keeping his originality in tact there are lots of people who are alive today amidst of agony and hardship they go through in their life is because of his songs (im one among them) .

So better be factual than with some random comments

Seems like you a big shot in music industry. Everyone has like and dislikes. That doesn't mean the other party is bad. If IR is not liked by his own industry, how come he is still a "Mastro"? ''
With all these social media and forums, its very easy to disgrace someone's reputation.

If you say its your personal opinion, please keep it personal

      No offence Mr. Ram Kumar.

Illayaraja also did a great favour to the music industry by bringing on the concept of orchestra to his recordings which gave opportunity to many instrumentalists, both Indian and Western instruments.
The pace with which he was churning songs, many session artists could thrive.

There was so much variety in his collection that it reached the masses from the villages to the cities and even echoed in the town halls of international destinations.
It infact launched a new industry when shows were organised in villages and cities during functions dedicated to his hit songs, mainly because of the varety.
The semi-porn video posted above is a proof of the same, but nowhere signifies the basic theme of the original song. Its lyrics were just exploited to titillate the audience to earn some money.

I was born and bought up in the North, so was a very late entrant into Illayaraja music, was maily during my college days. That was the beginning of the end of the golden era of music originality in India and Illayaraja was one of the shining stars, sitting in the horizon of the setting sun.
