Toyota Altis "The Orphan" ownership report

Hey its me again, this time it s a 2009 toyota corolla Altis .

Flashback :I get a call in 2009 from my sis to make plans for another trip, during a conversation she says there is a new car lying in the office ,i think its a toyota.I didnt pay heed much.

1 month later wheni go to hyd is see a brand new Altis in the airport ,maybe done about 1500km,i ask the drive whos car it is ,he replies its our s ,it was bought 6 months back and kept in the corporate office unused. So thats how the orphan came into our family

Good to know you owned teh Altis avi. Also its a shame you are driving a japnese washing machine when you have acess to american cars

    OK ,First impression

The seats try to give you support but after a while it leaves you irritated ,as if your girlfriend is hugging you for an hour, that airy feeling is not there.

I jump into the drivers seat and slot the 1st gear ,launch the car in 4000rpm ,right in the airport ,the car moves with a small wheelspin.

This car belts out 130+bhp and 17.5 kgm torque,
I touch 140 then i see flyover kinda thing turn to the right<people familiar with hyd airport will know this>

I did the curve in 120 with ease and no fuss..Then i hit the ringroad ,started belting the chinky ,touch 200 in no time ,this thing is fast ,yes faster than a stock elantra upto 200km,braked in 200,stock bridgestone turanza tyres ,no screeching nothing ,the car comes down to 120 ,this kind of response i have not even seen on the e280cdi,superb brakes awesome brakes, yet to see better brakes apart from teh bmw 530d.

This car is real fast ,handles damn well, dont know what it can do with the neova advans, can kick 100% of the cars in my hands, can cruise all day in 180 to 200 with ease .

Driver was doing 140 on the fortuner, i overtake him like he was standstill, the speedo had just crossed 200km,the baleno which is a superb peppy car with respect to performance fells pale in comparision.

I have seen the pics of the mmst track that rahul posted, some c1 or c2 curve taken at 120 woth pic, altis can do a much more sharper curve with stock tyres ,it will smoke a civic in city, highway, handling, bad roads, features etc.

Thanks Nikhil that is my house.

Thanks Akash ,but i would prefer balck over silver .Well i did find some 3 to 4 cars but ot new anymore.

Ride quality....Good on humps ,potholes etc ,but uneven roads its a boat and you feel pukish.

Interiors are of a good quality though i dont like the beige.

Its got electrically retractable door mirrors ,climatic control blah blah ,who cares

There is one irritating problem i forgot to mention earlier,if the weather is windy the car shifts badly above 140km as if 1 tyre is punctured. Some how toyota cant beat the Germans in this department. This cars reaction to wind is too much.In the skoda this was not at all a problem.

I've generally driven my corolla to the limit most of the time.
