Bangalore has the most expensive fuel in teh country.
Chandigarh has probably the lowest.
They say that Bombay High and Bombay Port gives us most of our crude oil, but the cost of fuel in North East is the lowest.
Southerners rejoice that you have Pondichery, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam to take on cheap fuel.
Sometime ago, I did start a table on cost of fuel in India, but that is now out of date. Rahul, maybe we should have a separate section/ box for that, not a thread.
For highwayers, cost of fuel has to kept in mind to plan their refuelling.
For example, if I am driving from Trivandrum to Bombay, my first refuelling is at Mahe (low-cost Pondy!), then skip high-cost Karnataka for low-cost fuel at Goa or pull it till Maharashtra border (if on Hubli route).
Similarly, on the way to Delhi, for diesel drinkers, MH is cheaper than GJ, but RJ is cheaper than both and HR beats all of them in cheap fuel.
If driving south via Pune, I always refuel at Khopoli on the Pune expressway which has the cheapest fuel.
