Both will help reduce the noise. Another point is how flush are the sealing rubber strips attached.

I have a feeling that the silence comes from the fitment process rather than the glass per so. Even here the universal cement is PU, so may be the sealing strips and the lot are playing up. Thanks I will keep an eye (or rather ear) for this.
When you get your installation done, and then you drive on the highway, try and note if you can hear any extra noise and let us know.

The difference between the two types of glasses is in the sandwiched PVB layer between the two sheets of glass.

Update. I went home early. Finally I called the Joker at about 6:00pm. Said that he is delayed and will come in less than a hour. No apologies, nothing. Also said they can work after dark. Then at 7:30 I tried aclling him and then smsed him to forget it for the day. He called me back and I told him that who is responsible if he damages the paint or leather. Asked him to come at 12:30 today. One evening wasted. Also. sms'ed the Area office in Lucknow about the totally unprofessional attitude of Mr Abhishek. No reply so far.

Finally managed to get a photo of the crack. Not very good but this is the best I could manage.

Today the chap called me at 12:00 noon to confirm that he is on his way (~40min). I said I am starting and was home in about 10min. Zilch to calls and smses. Finally smsed him and Lucknow that I will return to IIT at 2:00pm. Then I got a sms that they found the glass cracked. Said it may take four days to get a new one. Later I also got a call from him HO. So hopefully on Tuesday / Wednesday. Fingers crossed.

Just had the 24 month service. Total damages Rs.3622 primarily because of air filter and wiper rubber change (rhs only). Airfilter change is not mandatory at 10,000 but considering a lot of my driving had been on very dusty roads NH25+NH75 and NH2 (Ok) +NH92. I may add that NH2 is GQ, NH25 is EW corridor and NH75 NS corridor. Also, the wiper had been juddering for quite some time.

Laying to rest the myth of three month service

I am attaching the scans of the two pages of the Civic Service manual. As per the manual for low mileage cars there is no need for any service at three months (as they invariably call you for). With synthetic oil the recommendation for oil change is 10,000/12 months. Apart from some simple checks there is nothing for the six month point either.

So the next time they call you for service at three months just ask them to get lost. I have been doing this for the past couple of years. I am thinking once the four years of the extended warranty (I did not buy it!) are over I may switch to an annual service schedule.

Finally got the glass replaced yesterday. The chap came only 1-1/2 hours late. Did a professional job. Too out the beading and trim. Then put in some sort of a knife in between the glass and body. Cut round with it. Then put in a cutter wire and wend round pulling it. This removed the old glass. Then he cleaned up the frame (removed PU) and put a fillet on the glass (three sides) and the frame (bottom). I asked why this, he said this prevents the PU seeping out. Put the glass, and then replaced the trim. Total time under 1:30. Damages 11k. I am told that the HA$$ will charge about 20k, and since it is Asahi often buys the glass from them only. Glass markings are identical except for the Honda logo etched on the original.

i am sure you must have already done this, but please do make it a point to check for leaks sir, a friend of mine had his ANHC done from a honda showroom, and after the replacement of the glass, during the rains the water would seep into the cabin from the sides of the windshield, however i think yours been installed in a proper fashion but again it doesn't hurt to check

blackhorn; I will do as suggested. But the way it was done gives me confidence. Normally, seepage happens when they either do not clean properly or are too economical with the PU. In a way WE can be expected to be more competent than Honda dealerships.

Got my rear donuts yesterday from Darryl. Apparently, the rear ones are 1"while the front have to be 1-1/2" else they may fall out. I went for rear only, since mine is a post end 2009 one with revised rear mountings.

Fantastic service, I transferred money on Friday afternoon, he shipped them on Saturday, and despite the Thackeray mess in Mumbai, they arrived yesterday afternoon. I have the car booked for a routine service on the 27th so will get them installed then.
