    adrl

thought i kick star this section with my favorite form of drag racing.

    american drag racing league (adrl)

since nhra is almost dead now this new form of racing has seem to taken up very well.

epically since scott kalitta's crash in 2008 killing him most of the fast car drag racing has began to cut down the length from 1320 feet (1/4 mile) to 1000ft.

so the adrl's 1/8th mile 660 feet has seemed to be a very big him in drag racing and seems to bring back drag racing fans.

so will post about my favorite class right now in the adrl.

    XTF

this is basically a no holes barred class in which almost no rules are there with respect to weight and powertrain so almost any form of engines are present so this make a wide variety of cars from imports ,bae hemi,(small block chevy) sbc, (small block ford)sbf, to big blocks.

though this class has one limiting factor 10.5" tires which may not seem as much but a huge limiting factor since these cars put out close to 3000+ hp on those tires.

some of the racers from this class:
    billy glidden :

he is the son of 10 times pro stock winner bob glidden. right now first in points who holds a 1400+ points leads over the rest of the racers.

he runs a ford power train which is a 404" small block on nitrous running carbs.

    gary white:

he drives the titan motorsport scion tc which runs the supra 2jz engine on a 94mm turbocharger.

they have run the best of a 4.009.

they could be called the underdog since they run the smallest displacement engine of 3.0l factory block and head.

    they are second in standings.

    jeff nasier:

right now third in the standings he runs a 618" Naiser built engine on nitrous.

these are the top 3 in the standings of the xtf class this class though may have a variety of cars it is a vary tuff class

    for example

the top 4 qualifiers from the last race:

    1 6 Gary White, New Market AL, '07 Scion 4.009 181.45 181.45

    2 111 Chuck Ulsch, Clarksville MD, '68 Camaro 4.027 204.01 204.01

    3 4914 Jeff Naiser, Houston TX, '02 Grand Am 4.040 179.85 179.85

    4 1 Billy Glidden, Whiteland IN, '06 GTO 4.048 173.56 173.56

most of these cars runs over 175 mph over 1/8th mile which is really fast.

now for the heavy hitters in this class

    firstly

    chuck ulsch
he started this class about 4-5 races back and already holds the record for fastest mph and quickest et and the first member of the mickey thompson 3sec club.

he ha gone about 206mph /331 kmph in testing and in a race about 204 mph that is really fast considering the pro-mod champion scruggs runs 3.66xx at 207x mph. within his hort entry he stands 4th in the standings

he also holds the record for fastest et at 3.982. roughly this should equate to a late 5sec run in the 1/4 mile.

his car is rumored to be pushing over 3000+hp

a video of his record run

he runs a blown alcohol hemi on roots blower. he is also favored to take championship win at battle of the belts adrl finaly race of the year.

    spiro pappas:
he is the second member of the 3 sec club. he runs a pontiac gxp with a single large frame turbo.
his first two outings didnt end well as both resulted in fire which later rebuild in a short time to become the second member of the sec club with a 3.992/190.1 and later on winning his first adrl race.

    pics from the fire

this is the same engine he runs in his gxp after his crash his camaro which is a legendary car on its own

when he was about to start he came with one intention to take out the champion billy glidden.

todd moyer aka more famously known as turbo todd moyer.

todd moyer started of adrl with his pontiac firebird in which took the bounty for the first car over 185mph.

unfortunately he crashed his firebird at a local event and them moved on to a ex pro stock jerry haas built cavalier with the earlier drive train as his firebird
