Anyway, going to jump in the OBD scanner party. Planning to buy this one:

    ELM327 OBDII OBD2 V1.4 Bluetooth Diagnostic Interface | eBay

Why am I buying this - have no idea.

Guess many of us are using this, including me, and it is V1.5 also.

Made the purchase on 20th March and after a hell lot of confusion, the item has been delivered in Bangalore; will get it on hand around the 13th.

Experience with the global seller i2cworld of ebay India is mixed.
    - Not sure if I should be ****ed off about them first mentioning that the item is not available and a refund given (only when I asked for an update when it was approaching the deadline for delivery)
    - They disputing my refund claim with Ebay.
    - Ebay's "PaisaPay - full refund" is a joke! The benefit is always for the vendor.

But to their credit - they did deliver the product (which hopefully is the one that was ordered) and they did respond to my emails, all the time, and within 2 hours of sending the mail. That itself is a +1 from me.

Will post a review once the scanner is on hand.

Wheels - did you get the scanner ? Any feedback on how it performed - was almost about to buy this same product when I saw your post.

As mentioned earlier, I use the same one. It has a PID read speed of around 16-17 per second. A good OBD2 adapter(~200$) would do 60-70 PIDs a second over bluetooth.

But this is what I use, and it serves my purpose.

The question comes up again then. Which generic scanner would work with the Swift VXi 2006. I know one which is Rhino Power:
    SDL interface
Any idea about any other scanners. ELM327 USB won't work is what I believe. Am I right?

Nice to bump into GH thread while looking for OBD / HUD Display. I am planning to use my Android phone to project Basic Params (Speed / RPM/ Oil/Batt) to my Windscreen.

Planning to buy the below OBD BT Adapter , the seller is Tiwanese (They are much better than Chinese, as learnt from my Aeromodeling experience), who has highlighted the advantage of his adapter (if at all it makes any difference!! anyway, its just $6 costly than the cheapest adapter)

    OBDII OBD2 diagnostic 327 1.5 wireless Bluetooth | eBay

Wondering if it would work with Mitsubishi Cedia ! Other Jap car guys are facing issues ( sorry Suzuki guys)
