Esteem Brake Booster for Zen MPFI

i have been trying to improve the braking performance on my Zen Carbon. though the brakes do work but they are very vague.

tried bleeding brake lines and then changing almost everything..
      brake fluid [@ #Code6 ]
      brake lines [@ #Code6 ]
      rear brake shoes [@ #Code6 ]
new brake pads at the front [@ #Code6 ]
      new rotors [@ #Code6 ]
and finally even the new Zen Brake Boooster [@ #MASS ]

looks like Zen's stock braking is crappy by default. i remember reading somewhere that Esteem Brake Booster provides better feel and power for braking. has anybody used it? also one of my friends' Zen has very good brakes [feel] and he said it is running Esteem Brake Booster.

Esteem type II brakes are a bolt on to the Zen IIRC. You can try them. That is what most modded Zens in Bangalore run.

Booster, calipers, discs, brake pads. All are a fit from what I remember.

If you want good brakes you'd be better off upgrading everything. Or you can start with just the booster and see if you're happy. Then take it from there.

      wagonR 1.1 Brake Issue

yesterday when my Dad was driving the car, he experienced sudden drop in braking - brake pedal felt soft and travels farther but no effective braking. he immediately took car to the service center. by then the brakes were back to normal. MASS did not find any issue and did a brake lines bleeding.

i have experienced this earlier in the wagonR [when it was new]. brake pedal suddenly had become soft and travelled farther with no effective braking. but after couple of moments and pumps it was back to normal.

on both the occasions it was a longish drive outside the city limits and probably doing around 50-70 kmph.
      what could be the issue!!?

Could be a booster or master cylinder issue. Air in the circuit can also lead to spongy brakes - but that will not come and go. When is the last time you changed brake fluids? Brake fluids need to be changed once in two years.

You may also be having an intermittent vacuum leak somewhere. Have it checked.

But bad booster makes the break as hard as a rock, no? Soft break I would guess, air in break line or damaged line itself.. And of course the master Cylinder itself as kb100 told.. It could be leaking the fluid..
I had an old Ikon which had tonnes of breaking probs
