100% debris. (happens when you suck the last of the fluid.. muck tends to collect in the bottom over time). Logically, air locks cannot go by pumping in more air

Windshield washer pumps do not suffer from air locks.

Got the TMSC app from Tata.

Tata Motors Service Connect APP | Tata Motors Service

Liked the service history information and many other options. No need to keep a track of your earlier records, there is everything mentioned in the service history info on the app; like at what odo, you changed what. Makes the info quite handy.

The image of the app is from Tata website.

Brilliant initiative! Why should an owner struggle to access his own vehicle's service records in todays day and age! All the other manufacturers need to learn form this!

      Kudos TATA!

Awestruck by the capabilities of the Safari. It is an utter smooth and comfortable vehicle.

Yesterday me and father-in-law went to Bangalore. The plan was to stay there for a night and return the next day. But, the car peformed so well, that after crossing Anantpur, we decided to come back the same day. Imagine a 65 year old thinking of staying in the car for 1200 kms/18.5 hours.

On the other hand, I was impressed with the smoothness of the drive and the mileage figure. It returned 14.2 km/l by tankful to tankful method in which there was 3 hrs spent inside bangalore traffic(koramangala area)

Recently, my brother gifted me a Bluetooth handsfree device known as Kinivo.

I am impressed with the ease of its use. Just plug in the device and pair with a Bluetooth enabled phone and it is good to go. It worked as our audio media player flawlessly for around 15 hours yesterday. The sound clarity is awesome and you can also use it for attending calls, there is a built in microphone which has a good reach and clarity.

I had used an FM receiver once and was apprehensive to use any such device due to its pathetic sound quality. But this one has made me go gaga about a bluetooth device. Looks decent, converts your audio player into a Bluetooth enabled device.

Got a new battery. Was out of town from last 15days and on my return the battery was found completely discharged.
I always liked amaron in batteries, but tried Exide for a change.
Tata Safari Dicor Battery - Buy Car Battery for Tata Safari Dicor Diesel: Battery Bhai
The battery make is Exide MRO-MRED105D31R (85 Ah)
Bought it from a local dealer for 4900 under exchange of the old one. The old one was factory fitted amaron, which lasted a full six years and around 55k kms.

The last one month was a month of long drives..
On weekend of 1st October, visited ****ala water falls and Sri Ram Sagar project (dam), it is around 300 kms one way from my home in Hyderabad. Last week, visited Suryalanka beach and Chirala beach, which are 370 kms one way from my home.
May add detailed travelogue later. Some images shared on WhatsApp (deleted the images and videos to free up mobile space yesterday)
The drive was good. ****ala waterfall is a straight road from home.
For Suryalanka beach, took a state highway and avoided Vijayawada. On the return, took a different route from Chirala to Etipotala waterfalls to Nagarjuna Sagar dam to Hyderabad.

For some strange reason ****ala water falls are hidden. It is kunnttala waterfall. Added a N and T.

Pre-new year gift for the car, it has got new water pump, timing belt and other replacements.
The coolant was leaking slightly from underneath the water pump and it had to be replaced anyway. Got the timing belt replaced as well, as it was 59k kms old and had crossed seven years.
After the belt was replaced, I observed that the old belt had some wear and tear.

While coming back from office a few weeks back, there was a screeching sound from the engine bay, immediately the engine check light started glowing and I got scared like hell on the middle of the road 40 odd km away from home. I had a long drive coming up this week hence more worry from that front.
Got the code P2015 and P0299 after getting it scanned.
Luckily, the issue was a leak in one of the hose pipe and the sound was that of the sudden loss of air pressure. It is up and running and I have completed the trip on 30th April. The occasion was that of a colleagues marriage in a small town near Rajmundry, AP. The car ran flawlessly and effortlessly down the highway with 6 occupants and luggage.. a feat not many cars can achieve. The screenshot from Google map timeline is attached for reference! Apart from the car, google map timeline is Superb! ☺️ You can see where and how you went on which day ..
