I am a noob when it comes to detailing.
Yes, a little rain is enough to wash of all the wax.
If you are noob - pls, first go tro the detailing guide book. This is required not to educate yourself the first step on detailing, but how NOT to detail..
Please go tro this link - Detailing like a Pro - Maximum Shine with Minimum Effort and your best best shld be Basic Detailing 01.

Also, from a fellow noob - pls go with a spray wax(there are cheaper spray wax - like formula 1 etc.)for starters. Easy to apply and no bluff!!!
Paste wax can be your next step. Do post your qns and doubts in the doubts thread.

Please keep this as your Bhagavad Gita/Bible/Qu'ran etc. Detailing Forums..

All the best and welcome to the deep well!!!

And pls, Silicon Glaze, how much ever ppl fail to accept, contains abrasives(it cannot be called a true Glaze!!!).. Please use that only once in 5-6mnts only - or how more often you want to lose your clear coat!!! But, of course its a good cleaner...!!

It is not possible to remove clear coat by hand with a mild polish like silicon glaze. So need not worry about it

I beg to differ - Silicon Glaze - not being a true glaze, do contain Abrasives. IMHO, anything with Abrasives, hand or not, removes clear coat - how ever small amount of microns!!

Ultimately it is your car and you have to decide what is best for it.

I would suggest stay away spray wax. They are costly and do not offer much protection.

I would rather suggest a spray sealant like gtechniq c2v3 or carpro reload.

Spray waxes are more aimed towards maintaining once you have a sealant underneath

Does a great job. I agree stick to waxpol and don't read much about detailing, because once the detailing keeda starts biting, then you had it and your budget goes to toss.

Vicky.in or shoppersgreed.com Vicky.in has all waxpol products but I haven't bought from it, if you go to local dealer you would get some discounts
