This should rather be "Maintaining luxury car at A.S.S ". if you don't do that then cost is significantly low . e.g instead of say replacing power steering rack of Audi , if you send it to Mumbai to power steering specialist and get it repaired .

1 lakh per year for 1 service alone

May be if someone has great knowledge on cars and suggestion from experienced luxury car mechanics it can be maintained for half the price. I do not think luxury cars breaks so voiding warranty by not going to service centre is ok.

What happens if an volvo or german brand (including vw group) car breakdown in a faraway place from the service centre like 200kms or more? the location can be either a forest or some small town . If we contact the helpline how will they help us? Are we supposed to hire a flat bed truck and send the car to their service centre?

Dont you have motor clubs that offer breakdown assistance and tow trucks?

Towing assistance comes with most of the insurance policies. They have a fair contacts using which they arrange for a tow vehicle. But if its a far away place, we can expect logical delays.

Yes. They will send a flat bed if needed or a technician to help, if you have VW , then the first two years the road side assistance is free and after that they charge a price for it. It also includes re-imbursement of taxi fares of upto 2000 to your destination if it broke on the way. The truck will take it to the nearest vw workshop. you cant choose the workshop though. So guess same options will be there for all the VAG cars.
