AudioFrog: Hi-End Audiophile SQ drivers now available in Indian shores through Harmonixx.

We at Harmonixx Car Audio have finally decided to import, distribute and build a brand from ground up in India. A big part of the decision making process goes to Andy Wehmeyer, who we all know to be a genius in this industry.

      Who is AudioFrog?

Designed for the car audio enthusiast with an ear for Hi-Fi sound and an eye for detail, Audiofrog speakers, crossovers, and subwoofers deliver a sonic experience that rivals the best of more familiar brands. Audiofrog puts their focus on producing the best possible component for the job. That build quality is evident as soon as you hold a piece of Audiofrog equipment in your hand. Itís well-conceived, strong, and classic, harkening back to a golden era of products built to last. Every Audiofrog audio component is available a la carte ó you don't have to pay for parts you don't need.

Comprised of eight seasoned vets of the audio industry, Audiofrog is a small company with big personality.

Andy Wehmeyer, co-founder of Audiofrog, cites his 18 years working at Harman, collaborating with some of the audio industryís leading acousticians, researchers, and engineers, as a formative experience ó one which contributed mightily to the vision for Audiofrog.

Gary Biggs, also a co-founder of Audiofrog and a Harman vet, has won countless car customisation competitions and touts a worldwide following among custom car fanatics. Itís Garyís natural talent for innovation and desire to simplify the complicated that shine through in Audiofrogís commitment to quality and practicality.
With a no-nonsense approach, an independent spirit, and a passion for the customer experience, Audiofrog is here to help you achieve your dream car audio system.

      Whatís with the frog?

One thingís for sure, you wonít forget a name like Audiofrog, but thereís more to it than that. With an eye for subtlety, the folks at Audiofrog wanted to offer an alternative to the hyper-macho look and feel of some car audio products. And while Audiofrog components give you the option of blending in, they also let you customize your car interior to your liking with speaker rings and grilles designed to be polished, upholstered or painted.

Whether you apply the included Audiofrog decals or not, itís the incredible sound thatíll have people asking you, ďWhatís with Audiofrog?Ē

      Audiofrog's message to everyone?

Audio isnít always friendly, but we think it should be. At Audiofrog, we are committed to designing and building the best products possible. We are also committed to providing straightforward information and help, free of mysterious and unscientific technobabble. Truth matters.

Are we passionate about what we do? Of course! Our passion for great sounding cars is what motivates us to design and develop great products, but passion alone isnít enough. The Audiofrog team has spent years making award-winning car audio systems and award-winning products. Experience matters.

Audiofrog products arenít cheap, but value isnít determined by price alone. We think when you compare the attention to detail, features and the performance of Audiofrog products to others, youíll agree. Exceptional is worth a little extra. Quality matters.

      Where is Audiofrog from?

Every Audiofrog component is designed in California, United States of America but manufactured in China with the most stringent of Quality Control. In fact, we challenge people to hold our drivers in your hand and you would find it hard to believe that such build quality could be achieved in this industry.

What sets Audiofrog different from the rest?

Why does Audiofrog sell by the speaker, and not by the system?

For the answer, we turned to Andy Wehmeyer, co-founder of Audiofrog:

“We wanted to be sure that every GB series system is optimized...we want people to build the system that best fits their application without spending money on stuff they don’t need or won’t use.”

Stuff like component systems that include passive crossover networks that you might not need because you’re planning to use active crossover networks and a signal processor. By not including extras out of tradition, Audiofrog is playing smart with their dollars and putting them toward building the best components money can buy. Hold an Audiofrog speaker or passive crossover network in your hand and you’ll see and feel what sets their products apart – there are no gimmicks. These components are built to perform.

How is Audiofrog an installers (retail or DIY) best friend?

A brand conceptualised by two guys who have won countless awards for installation & tuning in some of the best Car Audio competitions around the globe, ease of installation and professional looks was a key factor while designing these systems.

Audiofrog prides itself on being the best option for anyone doing a custom car audio installation. Their speakers and crossover networks are ideal for nearly anyone looking to install high-end car audio, and each Audiofrog component includes substantial installation hardware, designed to make the potentially tricky process of installation go more smoothly. When you buy Audiofrog components, you'll have options.

Audiofrog provides multiple options for mounting their GB10 tweeters.

      How to mount your tweeters?

If you're flush mounting, the GB10 employs a spring-pressurized mounting technique to firmly install the 1” tweeter. The GB15 uses a threaded design to lock the 1-1/2” tweeter in place. Both tweeters are perfect fits for a 1” or 1-1/2” saw cut if you are fabricating a mounting location.

If you are mounting the GB10 or GB15 behind an interior panel, Audiofrog supplies a versatile mounting bracket with bendable or removable metal straps for installation on tricky or uneven surfaces.

Audiofrog takes a similar approach with the GB series midrange speakers, giving you no shortage of options, whether you’re after a custom or factory look.

Installation hardware included with the speakers

The GB25 2-1/2”, GB40 4”, and GB60 6-3/4” midrange speakers all feature an all-metal grille and mounting kit with these removable parts:

      1. A stamped steel backing ring that can be used as a retainer for grille upholstery or used to secure the trim ring and/or the speaker to the mounting panel.
      2. A cast aluminum grille tray that can be painted, polished, upholstered or used instead of traditional wood or MDF rings for custom fabrication.
      3. A height-adjustable, chrome-plated trim ring and grille retainer to provide a finished look when the tray is upholstered, used in custom fabrication or when used to panel-mount the grille mesh without the tray. The trim ring can be painted.
      4. A rubber U-channel that secures the grille mesh and prevents unwanted vibration.
      5. A custom perforated grille mesh that can be painted. Additional logos are included in case you choose to paint the grille.

      Installation options

Depending on your installation needs, you have five options for mounting your midrange speakers:

      A. Traditional grille assembly using the aluminum tray
      B. Panel mounting grille assembly without the aluminum tray
      C. Traditional speaker mounting.
      D. Panel mounting with speaker mounted from behind
      E. Panel mounting with speaker mounted from the front
      F. Bend Tabs to secure assembly with panel in between the rings

And if you're mounting the GB60 in a factory location, you'll find the sturdy 6-1/2"-6-3/4” adapter to be an essential tool.

Why are mounting options so important to Audiofrog?

Founded by industry veterans who have spent years building award-winning custom car audio systems, Audiofrog has seen the dark side of countless car interiors. The mounting packages included with Audiofrog products are their premium solutions to the most common installation scenarios. Not all installations are tricky or time-consuming, but when they are, being prepared with the right equipment can save you hours.

What one typical gets to see when you buy a AudioFrog set?

      Tweeter installation accessories.

      GB-Series 10" & 12" Subwoofers.

Audiofrog has thought out woofer options for all kinds of discerning clients.

Our subwoofers come in two popular sizes. 10" & 12".

Every subwoofer houses a Dual Voice Coil (DVC) and we have on offer both D2 and D4 options for clients so that you get the options to choose what suits your install the best.

The real stand out point for the Audiofrog subwoofers is that one doesn't have to manually wire the DVC to series/parallel. The GB subwoofers come with a switch that does that for you!

Move the switch to the right and the subwoofer is wired at 4ohm. Moved the switch to the left and it's wired at 1ohm. Nifty isn't it?

No more having to worry if you wired the DVC properly!
