karteek, this is the best method I think one should follow. I know it is exhausting, time consuming and you might end up with few rashes and cuts if not careful, however worth the effort and complete peace of mind.

Not sure about using any sort of liquid in the engine bay. I will not vouch for anything like this, since as you already pointed out it is risky and if not given proper attention you might end up having small niggles. Have seen cars facing missing and starting issues when water goes into the unwanted areas of the engine bay.

I haven't cleaned my engine bay much, but I sprayed APC on the whole bay and then wiped off with wet MF. You can use water in engine bay if you cover up the electrical parts i.e. battery, fuse box and alternator. Most modern engines are nowadays well insulated against water, especially when off.

      Hello coolash,

      Have you tried Wavex PLVR?

I have been using car shampoo or Proklear RAW for my car interior cleaning (dashboard, door panels and other fiber trims) but the end results are not perfect so I thought to buy a specific cleaning product before I apply protectant. Searched different online stores for long but could only find upholstery and carpet cleaner which doesn't work for dashboard I think and dashboard protectant which needs to be applied on clean surface. Wavex has range of products including PLVR that I need but I'm not sure about product quality. Anyhow I have placed order for PLVR since it looked VFM and promising.

I would like to use it to clean stains on dashboard, door panels and other fiber trims. Is it ok to do so? I'm asking this because, in amazon q&a someone has said that the product contains Ammonia and he doesn't use it inside car. Does it mean the product cause damage?

      Thanks...
      Best Regards

I have the sample, but have not used it yet. Considering other wavex products it should be good. I have used Amway LOC for APC which is also good enough and quite cheap.

      Hello,

I have posted my review of WaveX PLVR, WaveX Alloy Wheel Cleaner and Amway L.O.C here. Link to pictures is also mentioned there. Please have a look

WaveX products are VFM and effective so I will soon buy different products from them.
