I guess optical cable gives better sound output than HDMI, isn't it?

I wonder how you and ended up buying the same TV!

There is no option of adjusting audio delay in JBL SB350. So I guess i would have to leave it to that.

Is there a possibility of an audio delay for HDMI ARC in TV settings?

I think, both HDMI and optical cable are compressed digital format for audio, so there should not be a difference. Only I am not sure if the output from HDMI ARC is multichannel or just stereo. The TV spec manual doesn't say anything about presence of HDMI ARC at all, so no information on the output supported from HDMI ARC is there.

It is other way around actually. HDMI has more bandwidth and less prone to jitter when compared to optical.

I went through the manual and surprisingly there is no delay setting mentioned.
      But try the following....

The ARC could is causing the delay. What is happening is the audio/video is entering the TV through the HDMI ports to which you have connected your sources like set top box and bluray player, and then only the audio is entering the soundbar from from ARC port to the soundbar.
So try audio through optical by removing the HDMI.
Another disadvantage of ARC is that unless you TV supports full HD audio stream on its HDMI ARC, you will not get true surround but only PCM on the ARC for you HD channels and bulray movies. Optical will natively support 5.1.
      So check that as well.

Not the ARC Mathan...ARC will natively support only PCM on televisions, unless it is high end stuff.
Regarding jitter, it is hard to say, depends on the implementation

Actually, OP says Audio comes first, ahead of the video. So this may not be the reason?

I'm too facing the same issue but with some channels only.

I have a 5.1 connected with AV Cable to the set top box.

I was not talking about ARC in particular...just audio path in general. In all the systems that i am aware of, ARC supports only 2 channel audio. For that, optical is more than enough. Even Aritel DTH support DD+ only with HDMI. With optical, only DD is supported. Agree that jitter is more on the implementation side. As HDMI uses same clock for video and audio, perhaps it is less problematic. Just in theory though.

Did not find a more suitable place to post below query of mine, apologies if wrong one, please feel free to move this post to an appropriate location.

During to my recent visit to UK bought Yamaha RN602 stereo network amplifier, really works like charm connected to old jamo satellite speakers and a sub-woofer. Usually use FM, Airplay and USB

However, I am not able to play TV audio thorough this system, I am a bit disappointed with this. Now TV is connect to Videocon D2h set top box via HDMI. I tried connecting TV to Yamaha RN602 via RCA as well as digital, both does not transfer the sound to the amplifier. Am I missing something, much appreciate any help in connecting TV to the system I have mentioned above.

      Thanks in advance

      Ceekay
