Unhappy HVAC Fresh Air Intake chewed off by rats and fuel gauge not working.

I need help regarding HVAC unit repair in my Swift Dzire.

Rats have chewed HVAC fresh air intake curtain like structure which is accessed through glove compartment area.

I taken off Blower motor and cleaned it thoroughly. AC cabin filter was also chewed by rats which had to be thrown away.

The curtain like thing which move up and down when switching recirculating mode has also been chewed(The rubber and plastic part) Pic attached for reference although not of my car.

I want to improvise a mesh which should prevent entry of rats inside cabin. But do not know where to install it.
I tried looking into engine bay but could not find spot from where air enters into AC duct.

Please can anyone suggest the location with some pics.

My car's fuel gauge is also gone may be some wire has been chewed. Fuel is there but yellow light for empty tank warning glows continuously. Can it be repaired under DIY. My car is still under 4th year extended warranty. will warranty be void due to rat attack.
