      Detailing Ciaz..

      Hello Folks..

Phew..it was just a test of my first polishing and I am like having a roasted elbow…

Cut it short…Just ordered Megs Ultimate polish. My first one.

Noob in polishing(this would be my first detailing as i have never done anything other than shampoo wash + carnauba paste was in my previous cars), so thought of giving detailing to my fourth love…never gave anything sort of this kind to my other three loves.

Here are some snaps of the trial of Megs ultimate polish + Formula 1 carnauba paste wax.
Will be doing complete detailing on the coming weekend and will share the details later the weekend.
My so called “Hathiyar’s” would be
      1. Armor All car shampoo.
      2. Clay bars ( Don’t know the brand as my brother took it from UK last month, and he opened the pack)
      3. Megs ultimate Polish
      4. Formula 1 Carnauba Was paste.
      5. Few MF cloths.
      6. Few tire cleaning brushes. ( won’t be detailing Alloys + tyres as they were done previous week)
      7. Formula 1 High Performance Dry Clean Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner
      8. Jopasu Duster

I have very fine swirl marks which one can just point after observing the surface minutely.

Well here is the trial pics on the boot door and on the hood. Forgot to take the snaps before the test for hood.

This is what i am using as lubrication for claying(car wash shampoo)

Damn delhi. I just clean my car thoroughly in morning and its soaked in mud once back from office. Its like we should have 28 hours in the day with 2 + 2 hour for quick detailing and rest.

Our loves suffers alot while they run in delhi/ncr.

So finally for almost 5 hours of hard work it paid off..
however i have not done the full detailing as the dhanno is just 2 moths old. thought of giving this touch as this is Delhi.

So the process which i followed is :

      1. Detailing the tyres inside out. (did not took the pictures however) they were soaked in mud from inside completely but shiny outside. have not used any tyre dresser to give it a shiny or glossy look. just foam wash to alloys and the rubber and they were neat.
      2. Full body wash using 3M car shampoo. Reason for using 3M shampoo as the leather using this shampoo is smoother then the armor all shampoo.
      3. After the full body wash, clayed the whole paint , glasses and headlights. used 3M shampoo diluted minutely as the lubrication.
      4. Full body wash again with 3M shampoo.
      5. Complete dry with microfibers.

Here come the part which just took my elbow from my body..
      6. Started to polish (Megs ultimate polish) starting from Boot gate -> driver side gates -> Fender -> bonnet-> Fender->Passenger gates -> Roof. It took almost 3 hours to do this completely. My elbow is still crying. buffing was done as n when i complete polishing one part. phew... it seems the next time i am going to polish or waxing or sealing i would require a dual action polisher. so i have enough time to reasearch about them and the other parts which i would need the next time i start the process.

      7. Wait for about half n hour and then started with formula 1 Carnauba wax. this was icing to cake ( not in the sense of polishing to waxing but on paining elbow to crying elbow) . buffed off after completing the step when the wax was dried. it was easy to buff. i mean very easy.

The end product was a new showroom finish..

Apart from it, did complete upholstery cleaning with Formula 1 Dry cleaning.
      Used 3M dashboard dresser finally.

      Here are the pics....

That's cool. If possible could you please provide the cost of each detailing item you purchased. Just to have an idea. Cheers.

For a new car you are probably already getting too much into detailing I thought Meg ultimate polish was a wax replacement So shampoo + ultimate polish + wax. Seems too expensive for me then. But I guess it also depends if the shine can last for good 3-4months? Scheduled car service is per year ?
