If ceramic coating was the panacea for anything it would be used in the US army military vehicles first and foremost since they have to face the harshest environments second only to vehicles plying on cold mountainous terrain in extreme cold climates. Change the oil at the stipulated time or at 75% of the specified time if you are paranoid like me; your vehicle will serve you well. DO not use any concoction in your engine which has not been prescribed by the company. You may try PTFE compounds like NULON in your gearbox and no where else. Do not use even Nulon in your engine. It will only ruin it. Scour the net and you will find the answers you where looking for.

I tried Ceratec in my car once. The only difference I noticed was increased idle speed by 100 RPM just after the treatment and the oil pressure lamp goes off sooner. After a few thousand kilometers, the idle speed went down again.
The magic bonus of reduced fuel consumption never came. The car still uses 7-8 liters/100 km.
I think its a waste of money.

It has been almost 5,000 kms of running after getting Ceratec poured into the engine. I can't really make out any difference. Maybe it has actually formed a protective layer around the pistons and stuff.... however I can't vouch for the same since the engine sounds and feels the same.

Whatever you do, don't use it on a new engine. Run the engine for AT LEAST 10,000 kms before you plan to use any kind of additives/ synthetic oils.

Nope it doesn't. Even for that matter the Showroom guys themselves offer you a snake oil coating called "Teflon coating". Stay away from that marketing gimmick Teflon coating.

His question is obvious. It is about ceramic coating paint protection and it is in the detailing sub forum. Why is everyone commenting irrelevant answers??

Coming to the question, I don't know what warranty they will void for such a cosmetic job as cermamic coating. It should not. But I got generally negative feedback saying it is not worth it. How much is the cost? I asked Ceramic Pro Chennai but their starting package is 23k which is steep.

Here is my related thread : Ceramic Pro?
      Thanks,

Lol. No it won't void any warranty. There's no warranty on paint and finishing once driven out of the showroom anyway.
