      Sealed box volume for Morel Ultimo SC 104

      hi all
      just got the morel ultimo sc 104.
      I was looking out for specs for sealed box volume calculations online and found two pdf from morel site.

      1. http://www.morelhifi.com/wp-content/...-CONVERTED.pdf

      Qts0.35
      Vas 1.77 (ft3 )
      Fs29 Hertz
      according to above T-S parameters
      Vb .65 (ft3 )
      Gives me:
      Qtc = 707
      Fc =58.6 Hertz
      F3 = 58.6 Hertz

      2. http://www.morelhifi.com/wp-content/...al-for-web.pdf

      Qts 0.46
      Vas 1.93 (ft3 )
      Fs27 Hertz
      according to above T-S parameters
      Vb 1.5 (ft3 )
      gives me
      Qtc = 707
      Fc =41.5 Hertz
      F3 = 41.5 Hertz

      which spec should I go with?

      or any other sealed box volume is recommended for morel ultimo SC 104?

      SC104 needs a 1cuft sealed enclosure for optimum performance. You can use a ton of software freely available to calculate the length x breadth x height. If you don't want to do your own home work, do post here and I shall tell you what the dimensions should be. Do you plan to run a normal rectangular box? Or do you want to run a wedge shaped box?

      I am planning a wedged box.
      Is there any software with Ultimo Sc T-S parameters within?

      Do you have any experience with 10 inch Ultimo SC?

      I am trying to get as close to qtc of 0.707 as possible or am I overthinking it.
      one of the spec sheet suggests optimal size for Ultimo SC to b 0.529cuft I think Thats too low. Normal Ultimo specs suggest optimal sealed enclosure of 0.88 cuft I am thinking of going with that can add some poly fill later if required. What do you think?

      The optimal volume of 15 liters is worked out on the basis of a Qtc of 0.7.
      A smaller box than 15 liters will raise the Qtc above 0.7 and you'll get a peak in the upper bass with a steeper roll off in the deep bass.
      In effect the sound will be boomy. This type of enclosure will compensate for a system with poor bass by making it sound fuller. But if you have an efficient midbass, then the overall output in the sub frequencies will be boomy. The small box will also need more power to reach the same level of excursion (since the air from the rear cone is more compressed in a smaller enclosure and offers a higher resistance to the motor)
      A larger box will reduce the Qtc, the trade off here is that the roll off will start at a little higher frequency but will go lower.
      Taking cabin gain into consideration, I would suggest a lightly filled enclosure of Qtc between 0.6 (25 liters/0.88 cubic feet) to 0.65 (20 liters/0.7 cubic feet) or a heavily filled optimal enclosure.
