Clicking sound while breaking in Honda accord.

Hello guys I have been experiencing a clicking sound (kat kat kat kat) while breaking on my 2003 Honda accord. What could be the reason behind this?

I encounter click-click sound while driving on wet roads during rainy season. But it happens only when underbody stuffs are wet and get cleaned after water throw. When I apply brake, I hear one click and when I again accelerate after that, I again hear the click sound. Usually happens at slow speed. When inquired at workshop, they said its absolutely normal in wet conditions.

Do you also face that noise during wet driving condition or always face it? Also tell at what speeds you notice the noise. Does you car have ABS?

If its continuous kat-kat-kat and happens when braking at high speed then most probably its the ABS kicking in which is normal.

The disc will be having a circular scratch mark. You can get it inspected.
Why walk when you can run?

The car does have ABS. I hear the sound always when I brake no matter what the circumstances wet or dry, high or slow speed. But it's is not appreciable below 30-40 kmph. Also I don't think so that it is normal. Because there was no such noise before even at high speeds.

      .

muztariq yes you are right. The disc does have circular marking. I can see it through the alloys. Is that the reason for the sound? Is it something major? I do hate that noise. Please do tell me more about it. Thanks.

Yes, it is most probably due to this. Even if you get new pads, the sound wont go. Actually new pads create more sound. It doesnt change the braking efficiency much, but you need to get it checked that it is indeed coming because of the prominent scratch mark.

Something might be wrong with your ABS, like faulty sensors or even the pump.

muztariq Indian Thanks for the suggestions. My regular mechanic says that it's nothing of significance. Hence needed second opinion.
