I will visit the Shirdi temple tomorrow for Darshan and planning to take the Nashik highway for the same.
Supernova will also, in turn, clock the 40k kms during this trip.

Wink 4 years, a month early than 4 months and 40k kms up!

As updated above, Supernova completed 40k kms during Sunday Shirdi trip and is now at 40100 kms.

Supernova going strong and was a delight to drive in highways. We got stuck in multiple jams and this 435 kms trip made me a bit tired at the end of the day. I was not even a bit tired during my earlier trips to Bangalore and Goa.

We were 4 people for this trip and visited Shirdi temple, Shani Shingnapur and MahaGanpati temple (Ranjangaon), in that order. We left just before 6 am and were back by 8 pm. Refueled at Shell, Chakan early morning when it was half tank and fuel tank was almost empty again when we reached home.

      Route update -
Pune Nasik highway is still not a 4 lane. By the time, they will complete 4 laning, it will be time to extend it to 6 lanes.
Its only after Alephata, you can gather some speed. For Shirdi, you have to take a detour from Sangamner and just before that detour you have to shell out Rs 75. Total toll - 31 + 40 + 75. Once you take right from Sangamner, country roads are quite narrow, but, at the same time, very beautiful.

Despite 4 laning not complete and toll charges, this route is shorter with relatively less traffic and you reach almost half an hour early.

Return route was same via Nagar.
      Next goal post 50K kms

Supernova gave me worst mileage in recent times due to summers in full peak(read - full a/c usage) and almost chaos like traffic situation in Hinjewadi on daily basis.
      MID showed 9.9 km/l. In actual, its 9.5 km/l.

      ODO is at 40520.
Michelin tires continue to amaze me. On every fortnightly air-pressure check, there is not a single drop of pressure. It stays constant. Front 35, Rear 33.
      Hope this continues

Gave supernova a thorough interior/exterior wash this weekend and its gleaming like a gem. Also, purchased some detailing products to keep me busy in my free time

I am also toying up with an idea of getting a new ride. Let's see

I am looking for a petrol AT with a budget of 8-12 lakh. But, if you drive a FIAT, you have to look into FIAT once if buying a new car, no matter what they offer . With this I went and pestered Sky Moto guys to bring a Abarth Punto for test drive. I test drove below vehicles from their stable.

      1. Urban Cross powered by Abarth
      2. Abarth Punto
      3. Jeep Compass (Diesel)

The number 1 and 2 have a mind boggling engine which left me grinning ear to ear Abarth, further is the epitome of driving pleasure for the economy conscious buyer. (Read OTR ~11 lakh). The rpm needle just slips from 2k to 3k rpm in no time with proportionate increase in speed .

The interiors are dated. But, the one thing which I disliked the most were soft seats. After the leather seats of Linea, these foam seats were too saggy which I wasn't comfortable with. So, only two reasons for not selecting Abarth -

      1. Seating is too soft for long rides as per my liking. No more negatives as such.
      2. This time I am in for a more practical car(read - AT) which can do daily city duty without breaking sweat. Also, my Tjet gives me almost 60% of what Abarth will offer in a more luxurious way.

For Jeep, much has been written already. Its a very good car, but simply out of my budget for now

I have test driven almost all the AT's in this range and my heart is set on Ecosport AT. Good companion to FIAT.

Few reasons for not selecting them -

      1. I want a petrol AT. SO, DSG is ruled out which is only available for Polo and Vento, I suppose.
      2. Further, I have test driven Polo GT TSI which, though, I loved, the reliability concern is just too much.
      3. I loathe the looks of Ameo. Just can't stand it (my personal opinion. no offence).
      4. I went to Skoda for Rapid Torque Converter test drive. Yet to hear from them.

Nissan Micra CVT is also a good bet.

Yes, I test drove the Sunny CVT available in top end. But, the rubber end effect was too prominent in it. Ignored the Micra, as it too has the same transmission with further lower engine capacity which I think will further accentuate it. Apart from the leather upholstery, rest of the interiors were dated for sure.

Duster CVT was better in this regard. But then again, the dated interiors, less features for the CVT didn't just cut for me.

Honda City was best as far as drive is concerned. But, its too costly with 'V' variant only in sight if I am stretching quite a bit. And, I am not even starting about the safety aspect or rather lack of it.
