You only need the injector calibration if you have got the emission update, i guess. And good luck in finding the motul xclean Last time when my oil change was due, i gave up on xclean as it was getting so difficult to source and changed to motul xcess . It performing fine with the xcess and clocked around 6k km. It even reduced the oil consumption issue of xclean.

Nope. Not necessary. Tadu had explained this earlier it's been done in all the VW post diesel scandal. Engine clatter has considerably reduced thereon.

Y'day, someone representing Skoda calls me again and says sternly something like "We need a emission update for your car. I need the car for 2 hours". Pathetic try!

Please help me understand. What is that big incentive for them which makes them desperate ? They are conjuring now.

A 14 percent fuel consumption increase would have been noticed long time back. Not sure if anyone reported that here in India..

In india it was only reported about the loss of performance at mid and high end and higher FE. And also more fuel will make it smoke as they restricting the air with the flow transmitter.

Got a call from ASC to get the update, as usual I said no. The SA didnt ask for my reason and he said, '' sir i know why you dont want update, it is because of fuel pump ( dont remember the exact part name) failure, dont worry sir , VW is giving a special warranty''. I said car is out of warranty , for that he said this is for cars which get update.

So it seems it creates some problems in the car parts too.

After that Volkswagen had started calling up the customers for the diesel engine software update re-call to fix the impacted vehicles.

      Diesel Service Action

I had a check with my car’s VIM number and found that mine was an impacted one. Later Volkswagen had called me to do the diesel service action. Before performing the same, I had a double check with Volkswagen, is there any after effect. They had reaffirmed that absolutely there will not be any issues after upgrading the software. But after the software update, the moment I took my car out of the Volkswagen Service Centre (Elite Motors, Hosur Main Road, Singasandra, Bangalore), I got shocked to hear the engine knocking noise. When I had check with them, they said they have to do an engine adaptation and calibration test, which will take a day. Later they had requested me to leave my car for a day to perform the same and I did so. On the same day evening, they had given my car back, but the issue remained unresolved. Later they said that the car has to run about 1000 KMS to get adapted to the new software update. But Now I have closed about 3000 KMS, but still with the engine noise. I had written an email to Volkswagen India head about this issue, but no response.

I had also filed a RTI (attached) to ARAI https://www.araiindia.com/ to find out on what basis they had certified the diesel service re-call action, when the car engine is making so much of noise. Finally decided to file a lawsuit against Volkswagen and currently doing the paper work.

If any of you or colleagues are facing the similar issue, please unicast me.

As a group, will try to approach them to get this issue resolved.

So, it seems there has been some serious damages due to the Dieselgate and not just to the environment.
