as soon as i saw the car it was different than any car and also it felt much bigger when compared to the innova i went around the car and saw 17 inch alloys, all wheel disc brakes and so on..the equipment list is out on another thread so i wont stress on that.ok so it looked like a tata from some angles like the smiley family grill and indica like rear.it did not appeal much to me but it it did look nice, the twin exhausts was also something new which i had seen on a car in the segment..

next i was briefed about the car 6 airbags, cruise control,GPS and safety features like esp and all wheel disc breaks..wow!!
all said and done i wanted to drive it as soon as i walked into the car "sir this car has full time four wheel drive" nice.ok but what about FE in traffic that's when my eyes fell upon a button on the dash that read 4X2,that was it all my botheration had ended, this car was complete! i could switch to 2 wheel drive mode whenever i like what else did i want!! i missed one crucial detail INTERIORS,believe me people i forgot i was in a tata!
quality and only quality that's what i saw fit and finish was on par with other cars in the segment and the cars interior somewhat looked inspired from rovers!!
i was given the key fob...i was about to start the car just then i started praying because i was told its the old safari motor(i was not told about mods like the flywheel)i inserted the key and...

to my surprise the Aria cranked with a settled growl not at all anything similar to the safari! the car had a commanding driving position and it was like ive been driving this car for ages the car folded around me..admittedly the clutch had a longer play than expected but it was all positive the steering felt light and the car was easily maneuverable the side mirrors were huge and gave me a feeling of viewing the whole road on the sides..the suspension is softly setup and when i tried go to some bad patches the car was gliding over them i was amazed i guess the 17inch alloys were working in favor for the car, well the Ritz taught me that if a car is rally good at soaking potholes at low speeds then the car goes bad on highways i was confident after 10 minutes of driving the vehicle that it was really capable and so i floored it! the gearshift felt very positive unlike traditional tata i could almost hear a click while shifting well the engine did disappoint me though but was less noisy unless floored and pickup was not felt unless you look at the speeds you are doing, that was enough of normal driving i was like lets see what this car can really do i took it up to 120km/h and after that the engine felt noisy so i stuck to 120,the car cruised in a very relaxed manner body roll was felt but not considerably the car felt like floating on the highway and thus it was clear that it was an effortless cruiser for the highway the steering too had stiffened a bit, then i had to brake suddenly to save a dog and the all wheel disc brakes abs and esp came to save me at the same time!! it was amazing! the car stopped as expected and the occupants were unaware of what happened!!do i have to say more i dont think so...next heavy rain, traffic and FE..

the sun suddenly disappeared and clouds surrounded me but the Aria wasnt moved the automatic wipers came on and it was evident that they were of high quality and set up like the honda civic. the headlights too came on automatically and lit the rainy road ahead it was evening but raining very heavily then there came a turn a very sharp one i steered the car and the all wheel drive and esp performed and the car was controllable at all times, then i hit a stretch of traffic the weather had lightened a bit by then and i could see the sun,the traffic was BAD that when i started hating the clutch's longer play it gave me a slight pain while operating it but i guess its only a matter of getting used to it...the car was making me feel great and somebody knocked upon my window and asked me "kitna deti hai??" then i was scratching my head and then i realised this car has everything i flipped the lever and voila! instant fuel consumption!!(ill tell you the figure later in my post) the mid mounted screen in the car was displaying outside temperature and the FM station i was playing i was told that the production car will have map my india powered GPS,again i carried out with my drive and then i realized its just been a really long drive! all of the occupants pulled me out of the drivers seat and told me to go home i had a big smile pasted on my face after the drive just like the tata family grill,i had really liked and fallen for the Aria that's when i realized its my next car!! while parking the car i checked the FE after my rash drive it showed 14kmpl!!! man the Aria!! the price as of now is controversial if you ask me that what it should be according to me id say 14lakh ex-showroom for the top model, lets see what it actually turns out to be , MR TATA really nice attempt and ya its going to be mine in a few days so look out for a ownership thread!!

PS:mods please merge this into one post and im a gearhead so ask me anything and ill try to answer it i hope i receive a good welcome from my friends here!

Nice review. Seems the interiors are not disappointing. How was the plastic quality? Something TATA is infamous for
