Good idea is to not use parking break for long parking, rather just use the gear to be engaged.

      Hope this helps
You can use the hand brake but dont exagerate. My car has been parked outside for almost 2 weeks now. It is parked on a slight slope in first gear and only 2 clicks of the brake is used.
When you feel the pads getting contact with the disc, stop. Your car wont run away.
      More is not better.

1st gen Ford Figo's in India 'can' & 'will' run away even with the handbrake pulled all the way up, at anything more than a gentle slope. Probably the next gens too.

Then you have other issues with the brakes. Check that the slider pins are lubricated.

Could be. I would say 'almost' all 1st gen Figos have a weak handbrake.

P.S. Slider pins on drum brakes?

P.S. Slider pins on drum brakes?
I was not aware of the drum brakes. With drums you need to pull harder but not so hard to get everthing stuck inside.
You can try to reline the rear brake shoes with softer materials. I did this to my old KTM bike.

I thought about that initially, so i try to move forward and reverse using 1st and reverse gears. Even after trying few times issue didn't resolved. Anyway thanks for your reply it really helps.

One more thing i observed was, a sound came from silencer when I applied accelerator and move it forcefully. Any idea what could be the reason?
