      dear friend,
you are free to go to any Ford showroom or drop an email, please do all the necessary till you get satisfied with quotes, time, etc and then you can decide on what to do.. it is very obvious for any person to approach all options in these type of cases. best luck !

If engine was not damaged, then the estimate is too high, and it makes sense to get car repaired. Even windscreen is intact, so A-pillar and beyond the body shell should be good.

Get it repaired at FASS, and one that has cashless with New India. Are there no airbags in this car or the impact of accident was not much?

3.42L IDV for 6 L ex-showroom cost after 5 years seems higher than ususal. Or I might be wrong also.

And did you inform insurance company about the accident? i think you need to inform them as soon as possible.

No air bags and can a higher IDV have an adverse impact?

they said pillars have moved so will need to be replaced.. can I challenge their estimate...my guess is it's higher as surveyor may reduce it

When they say pillars have moved? Are they referring to the aprons? Or the A pillars (seems like they haven't taken any damage from the pic you posted). In any case, if either of them are damaged, you are better off selling the car if the Insurance guys won't agree for a TL claim.

If Aprons or any of the pillars have taken a huge impact, the structural integrity of the car will never be the same.

"Pillars" have moved ? which pillar/s ? A, B, C , please ask them or get it inspected physically in front of them & you, and tell them to show how and what has moved/damaged ? You need to get inspection done from at least 3 different experts on this..Don't challenge immediately unless u do your homework. My friend you know u r car and it is in front of you, we can just help you in our viewpoints. Thank you.

you do not need to challenge. insurance surveyor will do the job. He is more concerned on money part than you. You would be more concerned for your car than the money. So leave it to him. And they are better than us in that job.

Sorry to hear about the accident. BTW at what speed was the impact with the Corolla ?

You will have to fix the car, I do not think you have a option?

invincible_444, sorry to hear about the accident and I wish you and your wife speedy recovery.

My Figo met with an accident when it was only 5 months old, and the damage was much more severe than this, my Dad rear-ended a truck and the roof caved in, thank God he was safe! Ford ASS in Coimbatore, Rajshree Ford did an excellent join bringing it back to shape and I believe the total estimate was around 3L (one of the main reasons why I could not get a total loss claim - the estimate was too low, compared to the IDV).

I had the car for another 3 years, without any issues and sold it off.

Figo parts are inexpensive, it does not make sense to go to a non-Ford service centre as the parts are not going to be any cheaper. More over, insurance companies are finicky about paying bills when it is is not from the company service centre.

Thanks quicksilver my car is at a FASS it's just it's not the one I am familiar with and have had a poor experience till now. I had submitted the signed insurance form on Monday and they have not managed to get a surveyor assigned to the case. I can imagine how much time they will take to fix the car
