Thank you all for your suggestions. I was thinking of Skoda rs but unfortunately I cant get to see the car in showroom or test drive. Can anyone who owns that car share their experience and provide more details.

I will try to be a bit off the line. Unless you are in a desperate hurry hang on for a year and a half. BS-VI will then come in. So go for a BS-VI car then. Even though BS-VI is there in Delhi what happens to a BS-VI vehicle. Does it get registered as BS-VI. No clear answers so far.

Go for Tucson since you want best of highway and city
I own a Tucson GLS AT CRDI
Absolute peace of mind, ease of driving and very well powered

Cars owned prior to Tucson- CRV, Superb TSI
CRV was a breeze except for mileage, Superb had tonnes of maintenance and reliability issues, sold within 4-5 years. Pricey to maintain too

As for BS VI, completely agree but I heard Euro VI compliant engines in India just need a DPF change for BS VI conversion (Confirmation needed)
So engines such as Tucson,Compass,Superb etc are probably more or less BS VI ready and just need DPF change when time comes

Keep in mind, while BS VI fuel can be used in a BS IV car with no worries. BS IV fuel in a BS VI engine can apparently cause issues because of DPF and all
So a full roll out of BS VI fuel is needed before BS VI cars roll out
