The plug and play cables though are not coming yet so you are left with using the RCA input or tapping the signal from the car's harness.
      Any update

I did cancel my purchase since a good condition Bit Ten came my way. I got to try the S1000A in my dealer's car here. For some reason it was behaving erratic with high level inputs but worked great with rca input.

Sound from the on board amplifier was slightly dynamic for my taste. Almost like a Pioneer 2-din sort of. The unit became really hot when we powered a set of slightly powerful speakers from it (Audison Voce 2-way Passive) but it was normal warm when we used it on coaxial speakers and entry level Pioneer 2-way so I definitely won't recommend it for a power hungry set since it will ultimately add a lot of distortion to the output.

Setup from the App was easy too but I could not try the music playback.

For the price it's a really nice upgrade for a stock setup and if you plan to use speakers that do not require a lot of power.

      Hi Karan

Did you try using the Pioneer recommended 3 Way Harness for this process for connecting Stock HU and CAR input integration or sliced / diced the wires?

Regarding the heat - The onboard amplifier is like 14 or 22W like normal pioneer HUs, therefore this issue i feel.
I think it should work fine if internal amp is switched off and external multi channel amps are used for speakers and sub amplification

The harness is not available yet with the shop. At least it was not when we tried the unit. I'm waiting for the harness myself since I want to use that and hack it up for integrating a different DSP

True. It will all boil down to the usage and application. Though I don't expect a lot of users keeping note of this and will still try to get maximum output of the on board amplifier.

So I decided to finally try out the Pioneer DEQ-S1000A DSP. A lot of good reviews from a lot of trusted dealers/installers and a close friend's install made me give it shot as well.

I tried the DSP with the Honda Jazz compatible T-Harness. It will most likely be finally going in the VW Ameo that was added to the garage.

I got the DSP and harness from hareshjethwani over at Chandru Auto Stores.

Main harness is more than long enough to get the DSP to the boot of most cars.

DSP powered up and everything playing as it should be

Immediate difference was similar to adding a Aftermarket HU to the setup with OEM speakers. Adding the HPF and a bit of EQ really made the OEM setup sound even better and improve a lot of things. I have not upgraded the speakers in this car as yet to be clear.

I still need to do the calibration process for setting up the DSP for the OEM HU.

The mobile app is pretty easy to use and setup and there is option to playback lossless FLAC files through the phone via the USB connection to the DSP from the phone.

The unit is decently sized. It may not fit behind the HU of every car but will definitely fit in the glove box but I recommend under the seat or in the boot for proper wiring with other equipment.

All in all specially using the T-Harness and the ease of install makes this easily one of the most vfm and easy to use DSP units for OEM HU with of course limited features.

Heck I would not even shy away from using it as a glorified high end High to Low converter for later stage with a better DSP

The setup I am planning with this unit is as follows:

VW RCD 330G ( plays lossless wav files over SD Card and USB)
      Pioneer DEQ-S1000A (using the T-Harness)
Alpine PDX V9 5ch Amplifier (one stop solution)
Audible Physics 1.6 2-way passive set with Bi-Amp XO ( allows for individual control over level of tweeter and mid bass and TA)
      Audiofrog GS12 Subwoofer

I will update the same on a dedicated thread for the above mentioned setup.

You can also check this video out for more info:

      That's all folks

      Cheers !!!!

It does have what Pioneer calls a Source Calibration which I assume is something similar to Input De-EQ or maybe a EQ of some sorts to the signal.

Yes there is a Network mode. where you can use a band-pass for the Mid.

You can see the available xo points in the Speaker Settings tab on this page:
