      Suzuki baleno vxi 2006

      I have Baleno 2006. Recently she has developed problem of high idling at 1500 rpm . How to solve it? mechanics are taking me for a ride . Can any expert help me ?

      Could be a number of things. Where are you located? A couple of things you could check are the vacuum hose going to the MAP sensor / breather hoses and idle control valve on the throttle body

      I am in Mumbai. the problem was with timing gear, the slot of the lock pin was damaged. After repairing the Crank shaft, the car starts at 1500 rpm in idling, but if I switch on the AC in idling the rpm comes down to 800 rpm. While driving The car overheats and stops after few minutes and does not start till it cools down.The mechanic has set the timing at "I" on the Cam shaft pulley and at "|" (punch mark) on the timing gear. I feel that it could be wrong. pls advice on this situation then i can tell you further. I could be bit slow in grasping things as I am 67+ years old.

      The cam pulley has an indendation which has to be at 12'o clock position - there is a notch on the timing cover as well at this position.
      The crank pulley usually has a punch mark (??) which is again set at 12'0 clock position.

      Is this how it was set?

      How did he repair the cam pulley? I would suggest you get a new / used cam pulley.

      The Cam pulley was not repaired but the Crank Shaft was repaired.
