Dear All,
I am planning for my next car.Initially I was thinking of Safari or Scorpip. But driving Scorpio seems to more peppier. Now I came across Optra Magnum diesel. After doing a TD of the Optra I am in love with the car.So confused as should I go for Optra or Scorpio.Being a driving enthusiast keen towards Optra but as the family is growing, it makes sense to go for Scorpio.
Innova I can't as my budget is 11 lacs max.I am not sure how the Optra's mnt cost and whether the car is going to cont or not?
Please advice me.My family is of 5 size.My usage is mix of city and higways. How is the Scorpio vehicle? What are the pros and cons of Scorpio alos please share experience of Optra Magnum diesel on the same front?
Thanks in advance,
Arnab

If you don't mind the dodgy handling (compared to a sedan) Scorpio all the way.
Road presence is a huge help Scorpio/Safari/Endy or simply every macho looking SUV has it and loads of it.
Is there a Joker in the pack ? If you still don't know, its "you"

Am waiting for my 2011 make Diesel Magnum LT and it might come in a weeks time. This car comes with a bumber to bumper maintenance package for 3 years which can be opted by paying Rs.26,999/- extra. You will have complete peace of mind for maintenance/replacements of any defective parts except battery, tyres and accidental repairs. Validity of this package is for 45k kms or 3 years which ever comes first. To me this is sensible as the period includes 5 times engine oil changes and other regular services. Close to 7 lts of engine oil and its filters, labour etc (normal oil - they use synthetics only on cruze and captiva) itself will count to min 25k in 3 years time ;-). Infact we get all additional works done at free of cost :=D
Reg your apprehension about whether the model will get discontinued or continued... I strongly believe that they will continue selling in India till this will have a straight competition on power to value ratio. Currently, there is no other car available with 2L diesel engine + rich features like climate control a/c, all round disc brakes, leather seats etc at Rs.10.5L OTR ;-).This is a crucial selling factor :=D
Scorpio also makes sense depending on the real usage and requirements. Major factor that rules with both these cars are MORE VFM ;-)![]()

I slightly tend to disagree with a Comparison of Sedan Vs SUV/MUV as both has got its Pros & Cons mate...& Even I am afraid to comment.
But on the Other hand Optra Magnum TCDI is a FULL VFM provided our are OK with its Interiors beauty , Comes with OK (405) storage space & so on.
I would suggest why dont we have another thread Opened for discussing Optra TCDI Vs Vento TDI Pls. (Just my thoughts, as this would help many Diesel lovers to narrow down on their decisions)

i'd advice u to go for the innova. One of my friend bought Scorpio & he is not at all happy with it.He drove an Innova recently&he felt he made a mistake by buying Scorpio.
Back seat comfort is not good in scorpio. It keeps jumping & u feel stressed out after a long drive.Innova will be a better option eventhough its priced lil high than the scorpio
Why a sedan and a SUV?
Also what exactly is your requirement? How often do you travel out of town? How many kms do you clock in a month in city and on highways? How old are the kids?
autonut! just a matter of a week?? are you serious! just cant wait to see the all new fiesta![]()
