Talking Engine Swap on my Zen

    1. Is it possible to swap my carb zen engine with an esteem FI engine?

    2. Any mods needed on chassis for mounting the engine?

    3. Any mods/replacements needed for alternator/Radiator/ac/exhst headers etc.?

    4. When sourcing from a junkyard, how can we be sure of the engine/GB/Clutch/starter/water pump health?

    5. Costs involved for a good engine and mounting.

    6. Is there any mod for the rear drums as I already have esteem discs and zenD suspension.

    7. Will the stock 1.3 give more FE on a zen or is it vice versa?

The only engines that will fit without too much of a hassle in a Zen are the 1.3L G13B engine and the 1.6L G16B engine. You can fit a Honda 1.5L D15 too, but that would need custom mounts.

If you are looking at an engine swap, you will need to get the complete engine + gearbox + ECU + wiring harness + fuel pump.

How do you ensure good health? Take a good mechanic with you.

Costs involved for a G13B - 30-50k depending on what all you manage to source.

If you have esteem type II brakes on the front, don't bother about the rear brakes. Get better tyres instead.

And yes, engine swaps are deemed illegal.

First of all I dont want any kind of modifications on my chassis and only want diract bolt on job.

So you are saying a baleno engine can be a direct fit? If so will the zen exhaust header fit on it?
The fuel pump will be a direct fit too?
Will the stock radiator cool the biger engine? And what about the starter & alternator? Will mine do the job?
Will the zen drive shaft fit to baleno and estemm engines?
And finally can we just open up the engine and GB in the junkyard and assess the quality?

Please provide more elaborate details on the process. I want to gather as much knowledge as possible before jumping into it.

What have you changed here? Is it the Zen Petrol Struts plus Diesel springs? Is the Struts different for Petrol and Diesel? Also, is the Diesel springs different for the left and the right side?
