Oops i thought white water rafting. Still water sounds cool.

I still get goose bumps when ever i think of that day , my head went 6 feet deep in the water when the raft dived, with rocks all round and the raft was in a good speed spinning and i could only hold a thin rope to stay on the raft.

I slapped him because, in certain spots we he has to signal us to sit on the floor of the raft , which he missed coupled with the sudden increase in currents made things worse, if at all the raft topples, or you fall down into the water, with the humongous force you will become pulp in no time , the guard too cant save his own ass.

Coming from you, I have to believe this, but still.... are they that big or you mean losses due to hemophilia (being in the water, I understand you may not notice blood loss)?

I may join you on the two sports soon... cycling and kayaking. Have to find a suitable place for kayaking though. Cheers Doc, you are living it up, have always admired you for making the best of what's available, be it the Swift, the Figo, the Kayak or the BSA-SLR, where people like me would be cribbing, waiting for "something better" all the time.

Just exaggerating about the blood loss.
but the size of that thing was scary. If you consider how big the regular leeches get after a blood meal, one that's this big would have easily taken atleast 50-100ml if it had drunk its fill.

    quicksilver, Thanks
The BSA SLR is actually quite good. Very light and cheap. Havent weighed it, but it feels lighter than most foreign MTBs. Test riding a Schwinn this week, found a person who'll let me do 50kms on it.
You can drop a Kayak in any water body that is atleast knee deep. I know I've been promising to come across to CBE sometime, but the next time i do, I'll bring the Kayak along and you can take a shot. Or we'll go out here if you come around during the weekend. Getzcrazy is my regular kayaking victim on weekends. Dude doesnt know how to swim, but still comes along. Thats bravery.

I have a crazy plan of Kayaking downstream from Thodupuzha to cochin, but waiting for a decent set of life jackets and a equally crazy partner who can swim before I make an attempt. So far, everyone 've talked to about it has run a mile when I say, let's do it. Will, most likely, do it alone.
