    HI Guys

Visit Maruti Suzuki company manufactures the best selling cars in India and input your Engine No: starting with D13A....... I checked mine and it does not need an inspection. My car must have been produced during first week of November 2010. The batch of connection rods must have had some issues with manufacturing - annealing, casting, fatique etc. This must have been traced back and a replacement is being down. This is the true value of QUALITY SYSTEM -ISO 9000. Helps trace & pinpoint products with inferior quality and reason for the same.

    ciao

I think, 13,517 is still a very small recall if we compare it with Honda, so does it means Suzuki has better Quality Control? .. no idea.

If there is a better quality control then these bugs would not have come, so quality control factor is ruled out. We may call this as continuous improvement process though I am skeptical is calling so.

There may be 2 reasons :-

1 . Too much of customer complaints or fatal accidents due to this
2 . Supplier would have come forward with his bug

I think they were waiting for the right moment for all the other companies to recall. That way they would still be "good".

camchennai, I agree with you, but If we compare against the number of cars Suzuki manufacturers and sells, Honda is no way close to Suzuki.

I am not getting your statement!! Sorry can you rephrase it?? Honda makes global recall and those affected in India due to the faulty part are re-called in India as well. MSIL recall is only for India. Honda is much bigger and matured player when compared to Suzuki or MSIL

As per mclaren1885, its the bolt which connects the connecting rod. So my guess is that if the bolt fails then connecting rod will lose its connection and thereby car will not move or respond to acceleration.
