Here is yet another new feature on Gearheads.
The # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keywords or topics in a post.
The hashtag symbol (#) is placed before relevant keywords and has to end with a semi-colon " ; "
Eg on how a hashtag will benefit members.
# ERT ; (without the spaces) will add a hashtag to the keyword "ERT". Now members can subscribe to this keyword through their User Control Panel.
To add a keyword, you need to follow these steps:
1. Click ok "Settings".
2. Under User Tagging settings look for "Hash Tagging Subscriptions" as shown in the figure below.
3. To add the keyword "ERT" to your subscription just enter the word as shown in the figure below and click on Submit.
4. If anyone types #ERT on any post on the forum all members who have subscribed to this hashtag will immediately get a notification.
This feature can be used to tag multiple people easily, without having to tag them all individually. Just get them to subscribe to that particular hashtag keyword and when you use it on your post, every member who has subscribed will get a notification when that keyword is mentioned anywhere on the forum.
You can add all the Hashtag keywords here on this thread, so that others are aware on what keywords they would like to subscribe for.
