I usually play music from my Macbook Pro and the sound is just great.
These days, I'm spending most of time in the XUV and so planning to get something in there. My Nexus 4 is proving to be insufficient.

OK, here is my take. If you wish to retain your XUV's HU, investing in an iPod is worth it. I believe XUV's infotainment supports iPod via USB. If plugged in via USB, the SQ is going to be definitely superior compared to playing off bluetooth streaming or AUX in.

+1 to that. Keerthi you should listen to bluetooth streaming & then you would change your opinion Aux quality depends on the output capability of device. Most of the devices suck.

I have Flac files, i changed it to wav format, and tried to make a audio cd in Nero, but it says format not supported.
Any tips on how to burn the flac files to audio cd so that i can listen in car stereo.
I googled and found most car stereo dont support flac playback. Then why do we have the flac files, just to play in computers.
ANy members have tried this conversion please help out with DIY scheme.

Nero should support direct FLAC -> ACD. May be it has to do with the specific version of Nero you have. It's been years since I made ACDs. Will check tonight and post back.

FLAC is a good format for archival purposes. Now that the trend is moving towards OEM's mumbo jumbo infotainment systems with integrated navigation, pressure cooker, washing machine etc. the market for SQ-oriented HUs for hardcore audio enthusiasts are becoming slim.

What Product of Nero are you using ? Nero Express or Nero Burning ROM. The former being a wizard based program with minimal support for customization & works for novices. The latter being a elaborate program which supports various options. I suggest you open Nero Burning ROM & use Make Audio CD & in the file manager shown, you can drag & drop the files you need. Note you need minimum Nero 9 or higher to support FLAC files to be converted to Audio CD.

Or you can use Easy CD-DA Extractor program which has a inbuilt Audio CD program with Nero Plugin. Makes life easier. You've to do the same steps as suggested in Nero as well here & click on Burn. You should be done.
